Fountain of Nations goes 101

Today while at Epcot I had the opportunity to see a hose from the Fountain of Nations break loose during one of its shows. It flipped around like crazy for a good 15-20 minutes. They basically had to shut down the fountain in order to work on it. A maintenance cast member had to go in to catch it and put it back in its place. Of course, I had my video camera on hand and captured the whole thing...

That was cool..... They should leave it like that and at night add some red lighting and a little bit of smoke effect it would look like the volcano at the Mirage in Vegas

It's so surreal that the fountains are always on now, as they were throughout my CP! I remember every time I visited in high school the fountains would always be off. Was that a temporary thing, or is it shut down seasonally?

I think there might've been a couple of years where they had to shut them down (particularly in the dry months) because of droughts. Someone correct me, please, if I'm wrong.

Anyway...VERY interesting! Thanks so much for the video, Figment! I bet that guy was SOAKED while he was trying to get it under control. I thought it was great how every one clapped and cheered once he got it :)

BINGO! Hit the nail on the head there. IN the late 90's early 2000's many, if not all, of the fountains in the parks and hotels were turned off due to sever droughts that hit Central Florida.

Great video. From the DACS CM using a broom handle to get the hose and getting soaked, to seeing that kid check out the blonde girls butt at the end!:ROFLOL:

What a great noise!!

I`ve yet to see this fountain in all it`s glory; in 2001 it was off for the drought (the ones at the CBR had potted plants in them to hide the fact they were dry) - I`ll look forward to spending sometime watching it in person in October. WITH NO WAND BEHIND IT :D
