Best moderate priced hotel

We are trying to decide where to stay with our two children ages 3 and just about 2. We are looking into the moderately priced hotels. I have stayed at Port Orleans (the French Quarter) and Carribean Beach. I really liked Port Orleans but can't remember alot about Carribean Beach except the bus stunk if you were last on the list of stops. Anyone have any opinons on the moderate priced hotels and what might be our best choice with 2 little ones?

My vote is for POFQ, especially since you have small children. CBR is much larger. Our kids are 7 & 5 and after long days in the park a short walk is wonderful. We have stayed at POFQ the past three visits, it's our resort of choice. I personally think it's the best resort for your money in the moderate category.

For a family my vote would also go to POFQ. My fiancee and I decided that this resort would be the one we took our children to (when we have them) on our last trip. It is smaller, but the leaves it cozier. The other three make you walk a little, to a lot, further to get anywhere. The theming of the pool at FQ is enough to amuse any child (not that the others don't have cool pools), and it is quiet, something that is nice when you have children around. I am a preschool teacher by day and care for 20 3-5 year olds, and if I were to take them to Disney, I would stash them, I mean keep them, here. ;)

CBR is a really good moderate resort. We liked the private pool area and the food court is better than average. My family has stayed there the past four years and would go back again.

I would suggest POR or POFQ. I'd pass on CBR. It is WAY too spread out. I also didn't like the set up of the food court. POR is my favorite.

I like to try new resorts as I'd like to one day stay at all of them. CSR is a great resort and our family really enjoyed it. However, with kids those ages I'd vote for POFQ. I think the smaller resort and the pool is great .

Depending on your status, you might consider the Dolphin and/or Swan. If you are a teacher, nurse, or government employee (or get the discounted rates, you may be able to stay at them for as little as $149.00. If you go near X-mas time, they have Mousefest. It is usually headquartered at the Swan or Dolphin and you can get the group rate sometimes. (I went in 2005 and paid $99.00/nite at the Swan). You can't do the dining plan (negative) and you don't get Magical Express (negative). But the beds are to die for. It is great for both MGM and Epcot and not bad for MK or AK. (MK is relatively short bus ride). You get the EMH and the rooms, although not themed as much, are very plush IMO. Check it out.

I would have to say POR (Alligator Bayou section).
Nice pools.
Playground for the kids.
Boating & bikes.
Fishing.
Nice food court & restaurant.
Our kids really enjoyed POR!

Our favorite is POFQ.... But I will also put a point in for CS. We stayed there two years ago.. and had a nice time. It's a big resort, but the pool is a blast, the food was good and we enjoyed having the excercise facilities available....
