Hey sweetie pie! LOVE the theme! She's going to have so much fun! I haven't even started thinking about Lizzy's 2nd birthday yet. I still have 3 months. :lookaroun I'm hanging on to these last couple months with my 1 year old... I can't believe our girls are growing up so quick!

Well we had a rather uneventful day. :) My parents wanted us to come over for a BBQ... and so did some friends - so we decided to just have one at our house and make it an open house to whomever... who showed up? All of Jay's family. Anyway... I'm glad everything's settled down - It's been a long weekend.

No they don't. I keep saying I am going to let them go to youth camp with the church but I just don't.

OT: Have y'all tried the Summertime Mix Pepsi yet? I didn't think I like it, (especially since I don't normally drink soda) but I'm mildly addicted to it... it's YUMMY!

Is the youth camp an overnight camp? I think I'll have a hard time with that too... I remember what camp was like for me...

yeah it is for a week. Monday though Friday. I remember also and even though it was a church camp so much had happened. It was fun and lots of memories but I just don't want to let go this early.:o I was more in the 15 to 17 yrs old before I really went to camp.

I went at 9, 11, 13 then every year of high school. Honesty 9 was way to early. 11 and 13 weren't so bad... b/c ("Back in my day") there was no temptation to do anything wrong other than stay up past curfew... once I hit highschool however church camp was more like a dating service. :dazzle: Not exactly something I want for my kids...

I remember coming home from one camp and telling my parents I was engaged. Met the guy July 1 and he asked me to marry him on July 4th. No I did not marry that guy. We broke up in Aug. the next month. He gave me a ring with another girls name on it.  :sohappy: I would have been divorced from that guy several times over.

Oh goodness... camp.

Well my first year at camp - they nicknamed me the Torando. I knocked out several teeth (on a challenge course that I was far to small for) then I was pushed off a top bunk bed by the camp bully - and landed flat on my back... on the concrete floor. :dazzle: So when my parents came to pick me up - I was a mess of bruises and missing teeth. They were furious - but I had a ball.

Then when I turned 13 and first got to go to High School Camp - I fell head over heels for this piano player boy who was 3 years older than me. He asked me out to the hayride and held my hand - and I thought I was going to die. We left camp and never spoke again.

Although when I was 15 - I tried out for a traveling singing group that went to Japan to teach little kids English and perform around Japan doing missions work. I made the team and amazingly my parents let me go. I had to do 4 weeks of camp for that. But it was worth every second, no horror stories for that one. I had the time of my life. At one point we TP'd 5 houses one night after rehearsal. :lookaroun (before we left for Japan. We weren't destructive while we were there.) LOL

I think I'll let my kids to mission work before I'd be comfortable with church camp. Which sounds odd I know... but it seems like kids who do missions have their hearts in the right place and don't get in nearly as much trouble.
