My Three Sons

I'm not following you here. The actor that played Mike left the show (because they would not let him direct- that is where his passion was) leaving only 2 sons. They adopted Chip's friend Ernie and he then became the third son (thus keeping the name of the show accurate). It wasn't until much later that Robbie married Katie and they also had 3 sons.

I know, but I'm referring to the very last episode of the show in 1972. She said something about Mike being in the last episode and having 3 kids of his own. What I meant by my post was that I think she is just having a fuzzy memory, and the three children she was referring to were in reality Robbie's triplets and not Mike's.

Another piece of trivia...Tina Cole who played Katie is/was the real life daughter in law of Beverly Garland who married Steve and became her MIL on the show.
According to http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0053525/ they list Tim Considine as a director of the show. Now granted this information my be wrong, I am just showing what this website states. He only directed one episode and was a writer on the show as well. (Again, according to the website.)

Can you point out that quote because I do not see it there.

Ya, here is the quote in question:

Something tells me, though, that this woman may be thinking of Robbie. Because she said something about him showing up in the last episode and having three children of his own, but I bet she is referring to Robbie, whose wife had triplet sons.

Maybe I didn't say it very clearly, but what I was trying to say was that Robbie did have triplet sons, so I bet those are the children she was referring to when she told me she thought she saw Mike appear in the series finale with three children of his own. She probably saw the later episodes where Robbie had triplet sons and got Mike confused with Robbie.

That may well be true, because Robbie wasn't in the show, at least not regularly, for a while before it went off the air. So if he returned for the final episode, the woman you are talking about may have confused his character with Mike.

Ya, I wondered at the time of our discussion if she was confusing him with Robbie, so I very specifically mentioned how Tim Considine played Mike and he left when the show went into color several years earlier. But even when I made the distinction between Mike and Robbie, she still insisted that she had seen Tim Considine on the final episode as Mike.

But I still think she's smokin' something, especially since none of you have a clue what she's talking about either.

I know your quote, I quoted it and made a comment. What I don't see is the post you are referring to. Who is mistaking Robbie for Mike?

EDIT: This was the person you were talking to about the show? Nowhere in your original post do you say that she thinks Mike had triplets.

Okay, I get what you're saying now. Sorry for the miscommunication. Yes, it was my coworker who I was referring to. And you're right. In my original post, I didn't say anything about her thinking Mike had triplets. I mentioned that part in my second post. Sorry for being clear as mud.
