Hello.

STEPH! Welcome back. I'm glad you had a great trip. Bummer about the ring, though. But at least you'll be surprised now!

Oh, and quick funny story from today (ok, sorta doing a mini-TR here  ): We decided to go back to MK this morning so DBF could do Space Mountain (which was his fave) and so I could say 'goodbye' to the Castle. As we were getting off Space Mountain, our VERY last ride of the trip......

*dramatic pause*

We were both handed "Year of a Million Dream" Fast Passes!! :ROFLOL:

We were cracking up. We snapped a quick pic w/ them and gave them to a couple kids waiting in line out front.
aw! Glad you won something...sorry you had to give them away!

Nibbs - this is our photographer: http://www.davidwrightphotography.com/

See how I would expect high quality photos? Some of ours are SO washed out and looked like a regular snap shot... As a photographer - do you have any suggestions?
Oh yeah...this is definitely his best stuff. Most of our pictures never look like this! They are beautiful, no doubt...but truthfully, not realistic.

The washed out thing could be that the photos were a bit over exposed...and there's really nothing that you can do with overexposed pics...you can kind of photoshop...but there's not a whole lot. I mean this guy might be incredible at photoshop and be able to do it...but in my knowledge, it's very difficult.

It's hard to judge, since I can't see your photos...with photojournalistic style...which I'm guessing is what you guys had since that's what it looks like his stuff is online...it really is just a lot of snapshots. That's all I do when I photograph a wedding. Sometimes I get lucky and get something absolutely beautiful...but a good majority is just me taking snapshots of the day. (Now, I try and do things that a regular person wouldn't do, but suprisingly, a lot of people like the pictures I take when they are looking at the camera...not the photojournalistic stuff that I attempt to do.)

see...that's the problem with not ordering your pics before all the haze of the wedding wares off.

You love your pics at first...but as time continues, you get used to seeing them and then realize...I don't like myself in this picture...or what was I thinking with that...or why'd this person make this face. The "haze" of the wedding has worn off.

And a lot of photographers...ourselves included for the most case...just put out their best stuff...now usually though, we'll put a whole entire wedding in an album...so you see the good with the bad.

Last, and this is what I tell everyone...there is no way you are going to absolutely be in love with every single picture that was taken. It just isn't gonna happen. But usually you can pick out enough that you really do like that will be enough to fill your book. (Or hell...send me your pics...I'll pick the ones that should be in your book and send it back to ya! That will take care of it! )

Also what I tell people...Photoshop is wonderful and it can do many great things...but it is not an end all be all miracle worker. So don't rely to heavly on having a bunch of things retouched. It might look easy taking one person's head from another picture, but it sure isn't!
I totally understand all of that... But we were shown three entire wedding albums - and our pics just weren't up to par... I don't get it. If I only paid $1k or so, I wouldn't be so disappointed... but I feel like I paid for... pretty darn near the best and ended up with one step above mediocre...

If I can find my online link to our pictures, would you mind if I sent it to you and got your opinion? If you say they're really good - that would probably make me feel better. But... I don't know... I'm just not super happy...

sure...I'll take a look at them. And it will be a lot easier for me to judge whether they are good or not...instead of the blanket statements that I've said.

If you find the link that is.
