Hello Dot - we've missed you around here.

Hello Jen.
I missed being here.
But I accomplished a lot.
I'm working on getting a lot of things done for Lauren's wedding before the pool season gets started.
I'm in charge of her scrapbook, the shower invitations, the wedding invitations, the program, and Tshirts that I'm designing for the 2 of them to wear on their WDW honeymoon. All computer work. I put a big dent in it this week.

Wedding plans - how exciting! My sister was a sewing maniac when her youngest stepdaughter was married a few years ago, but she was really stressing. I am glad to hear you got so much done. :sohappy: I have less than a month before my kids are home for summer break, so I'm in countdown mode myself with housecleaning. I know it won't happen this summer.

Hello Joanna.
How's it feel to be free of studying?

It's great! And I can't believe I leave for Disney in 5 days!!

I don't sew at all so it's a good thing that's not required of me, but computer stuff is right up my alley. I'm doing a digital scrapbook for her, designing and printing both the wedding and shower invitations and designing Tshirts based on one I saw at WDW that cost $30. We're cutting corners and having fun doing it. She's going to have a great wedding without putting us all in the poorhouse.

That can be done - as long as you aren't having Disney do it. I think our total wedding cost (including my dress and everything else) was between $4-6000; nowadays that sounds conservative.
I have to admit though, when we ate at 1900 Park Fare last fall, we saw the glass coach and white horses at GF and I went back to my childhood 'what if I could be Cinderella for a day'....:ROFLOL: Just don't want to pay for it!

I posted earlier that I am getting worried about the summer program and that I might not be very good at it. Also, I am afraid I won't pass training.

Stop selling yourself short.
It's natural to worry about doing a job you've never done before, but there's no reason to think you won't do it well.
Try not to focus on things that might never happen. Just do your best. I'm sure that will be more than good enough.

A Disney wedding is the ultimate, but so not in our budget.
Lauren and Ken are happy just to be going there for their honeymoon. It will be Ken's first time ever.

I'm very sorry :(

But it's frustrating that this might have been prevented

Perhaps you should show Jer this since he is an avid smoker.
Thanks Regina...and yes..it could have been prevented....but he did not listen..my aunt is the same way..My mom is the only one who never smoked....

I should show him..but you know...it is sad cause I do not think it would work...:(

It would not work on lots of people..:(

I know...my grandpa smoked till the day he died, even though the bone cancer he had was literally disintegrating his spine. Even after he passed, my SIL (who smokes) still wasn't willing to admit the cancer was because he smoked. Both of my brothers smoke also, and one of my nieces does as well - and she has asthma. :brick: :brick:

I hate the smell of smoke. On one of our sport channels, they show this guy who smoked and got throat cancer. Now he has a hole in his throat and has to hold that little thing up to his throat to talk. There is even a commercial of him cleaning it! That alone will have me never smoking.
