I called and made ADR's for CRT. We are using the dining plan so it will be 2 TS credits. I just checked my ccard statement and it was charged $123. Will it be refunded? We're not going till 8/31. I know it's so people don't book and not show up. I never remember being charge full price up front before.

When they changed CRT to the format they now use, (I believe it was in the summer of 2005) they also made it a pre-pay meal. Checking the menus at www.allearsnet.com gives more details about how dinner at CRT now works. When you made your ADR, they should have explained this to you. I would call wdw-dine again and explain that you were going to use dining credits to pay for this meal.

Funny you posted this b/c currently I am waiting for a credit. I initally did CRT ADR w/o the dining plan then decided to do the plan. So I called back and they told me my credit would be credited back. Well here it is over a week later still no credit. I called them on MOnday, a week later, and they told me it would take 5 business days. Well here it is on Thurs and still no credit. Guess I will have to make another call.

We booked this past year for a CRT in january. They charged us the fee and then reimbursed our credit card (15 days later) when we added the dining plan.

CRT - Cinderella's Royal Table
ADR - Advanced Dining Reservation (I think - or something like that)

We went in Oct 2006 and I made the reservations in Aug. They asked for a cc but never charged it. Wonder if it has changed since then.

Disney did this to me as welll when I took my nieces... I ended up having to do a CC dispute through Amex because Disney took so long to refund me.

I made reservations for CRT for Sept and they charged my card. We aren't on the dining plan. My question is, so when we get there and eat we dont have to pay for anything right? Is the tip included?

CRT ADR w/ DDP

Our trip is coming up and when I called to make the ADR for CRT they told me I had to pay upfront via CC and that I would be reimbursed once I showed the CM's at CRT that we were on the DDP. My CC was charged (January bill) so I hope that we don't encounter any issues with being reimbursed...That is an issue that I do keep wondering about, so if anyone else can verify that it is a easy as they said it would be, I would appreciate it...

Yes, you don't have to pay anything, however, if your service was excellent, you could add a little on to it.

Just so everyone knows, Disney's OFFICIAL spiel on CC refunds is that they may take up to 2 billing cycles. DRC CMs rarely give the correct information on this one.

Thanks for the help!! I remember making reservations at CRT last year and being told they neede a ccard to hold it - nothing was ever charged. I was just surprised when I checked my statement and I saw the full amount! I hope I don't have problems getting refunded. I paid the credit card off yesterday. I guess they'll reimburse me once Disney credits me.

I had a similar issue with Hoop-de-doo Revue when booking last fall. I went through a travel agent and she did the bookings and I noticed that I had the charge show up on my card, although I caught it as it was still showing as a "pending transaction" with the bank. I contacted the travel agent and she apologized profusely and contacted Disney...long story short, about a week later the charge disappeared and all was well with the world. While this won't help the O.P. too much, this is definitely a good topic to make people aware of when making ADRs.
