Hey everyone i was just reading the 2007 unoffical guide to walt disney world and i came across somthing interesting. It said that this year all tho the Haunted mansion wont get the Nightmare lay over. but that jack and sally will be housting a party over at the MGM Studios. They said that its Disney's response to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. Is this true?

I am not sure if that is exactly true. there have been rumors floating around for many years about a Halloween party opening for many years at MGM in response to Universal. However, maybe they finally created this party. I am not sure.

Not sure about a response to US, but I've heard rumors of a Villains party at MGM a couple times, but nothing specific. It'd be interesting to see. FWIW.

i think it would be great. keep the MNSSHP at MK for the little princesses and pirates, and have a more adult halloween event at MGM.

Concepts have been thrown around for this, but nothing is official. The problem is that any Halloween party at the Studios would have to be more grown-up than MNSSHP, yet not as "adult" as Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. Furthermore, Disney's not interested in appealing solely to the teenage demographic, an age that is considered to be too unruly (e.g. Grad nights). They don't spend as much as Mom and Dad, either.

I'm hopeful that if they are going to do something, it's announced before June as that's when I intend to start planning my next trip. I was looking at going for a week in December, but if they are doing something special for Halloween beyond the not so scary Mickey's deal, I'd think about pushing the trip up.
