Missing: Annual Pass

So my wallet was stolen and/or lost over the weekend with my Annual Pass in it.

I'm pretty sure that I can just go up to the window and ask for a replacement (I mean, I just renewed it two weeks ago), but I'm not sure enough that I wouldn't check here first

Where do I go and what do I do to get my replacement?

Thanks

Do you have your receipt?

You would need to go to guest relations. I'm not sure if you can call Disney and they'll replace it based on information you give them over the phone or a faxed copy of the receipt. It's worth a shot if you aren't in/near Orlando.

It happened to me too. I went to Guest Relations told them my birthday and showed my id, just to show you are you. Then they gave me a fresh new one.

To confirm...

To replace an already activated annual pass that has been lost or stolen, simply bring your Photo ID to any Guest Relations Window, and your pass will be replaced for free. If your annual pass was not activated, you will need your original receipt.

This must be done in person. An annual pass cannot be replaced by phone or mail.

Yeah, I remember when I bought my AP last year I was suprised that it was made out of the same paper that a regular day pass was made from. I expressed some concern about it holding up and lasting an entire year as it could easily rip or get messed up from moisture.

Anyway, the Guest Relations CM even told me that after activating the pass while on vacation last year, I could just rip it up and throw it away when I headed home. He said all I needed was my ID and they would reissue one at any ticket window if I went in person.

That would save the trouble of worrying about keeping track of the pass and keeping it in good condition, but I just couldn't bring myself to ripping it up or throwing it away!!

A similar thing like this happened to my family, but my mom washed ours in the washing machine. We all went to guest relations and they gave us new ones.

Thanks everyone!

Now all I need is a new ID, since that was in my wallet when it was lost as well

I don't understand why people worry about AP durability - mine went the entire last year without incident. I think I've proven I go frequently enough to get some wear and tear too.

I just keep it in the little cardstock sleeve provided and in my wallet.

We just went thru this when our daughter's car was broken into and her purse was stolen (yes, it was in the front seat, college student, what's a parent to do? :brick: ). She had to take every piece of ID known to man, ss card, original birth certificate, mail to our home address, all with her to the motor vehicle place just to get her license replaced. If you have a passport you are in good shape, if not, take everything you can think of and shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck!

Actually, ripping it up would be a good demonstration of just how hard-wearing the "paper" passes are. You'd have quite a difficult time doing it. (Try it now. Dig out an old, expired ticket and try tearing it up)

The "paper" passes aren't just paper or card, they're coated with a type of plastic or similar material. It makes them long-wearing and hard to tear. The only thing that will kill one of these passes is water. It won't disintegrate, but the different layers of the ticket will dry and different rates, and it tends to curl up.

I found that out the hard way after my first trip to IOA, I put my backpack and other stuff in a locker, but forgot to take out my wallet. It got utterly SOAKED on the Bilge-Rat Barges, and I had to get my AP replaced the next day. What really stunk was that I'd been keeping all my receipts from the trip in my wallet, and most of them were a soggy mess with the ink all runny or washed away when I got back to the hotel room.

Along those lines - what's the point of the thermal ink printer receipts? In a few days they'll be totally black or revert to white anyways, so why bother? I never understood why they made them for cash registers..

I figured those are mostly used at restaurants because I guess you can't really return the food once you have it. Plus, if you paid debit or credit, you are able to make a quick note of it before the thremal ink fades away.

I know they don't do well with water.
My wallet went through the wash and they got glued together.
Then I went swimming and glued another set together.

One trip, my niece replaced her AP 4 times. 1st-had on swim shorts and when we returned to the resort, she jumped into the pool with AP in pocket, 2nd-she had her pass next to her cell phone and the cell battery demagnetized it, 3-again got soaked this time on Kali River at AK, and 4-we don't know how/why it stopped working (fluke, full moon, karma)? Each time we just went to Guest Services and they replaced the AP. We joked that she was just trying to have one with each character on them.
