Actually the downtown and historic area are really nice to visit when the weather is good. You hit it at a bad time, unfortunately.

I've visited most of the areas when I was here in school. Right now I'm staying in Bristol. The conference is at the Sheraton on 17th and Race streets.....but they were $150 a night plus $25 a night in parking. I decided stay here for much less. The drive back here wasn't bad at all. Plus I have free internet here and I would have had to pay at the Sheraton.

Thanks to DHs trip rewards membership I'm staying at the Days Inn.....I would have much preferred the Hampton Inn, but for 3 days this will be fine
