trip report 2/3 - 2/9

Ok guys this is my first ever trip report and my first visit to disney in 12 years. the trip consisted of me 29, hubby who turned 35 on the trip and my kids ages 6 and almost 4. bear with me and here goes

Friday - we drove down from nc, should have only been a 9 1/2 hour drive but i guess the kids bladders were excited also so we done more potty stops than we thought we would have to do. we arrived in disney around 10:00 that night, our condo wasn't going to be ready until the next day so we stayed at a cheapy hotel that night. the kids were really really great on the drive down, we were really wondering whose kids these were. well, since we didn't know where we were at we accidentally drove through the front gates of magic kingdom that night, the kids were asleep but i could tell hubby was really excited, we stopped at the Hess to filler up and off to find a hotel

Saturday - we were not planning on going into the parks until later this day after we checked in at 4:00 but since the kids were so great we were off to magic kingdom. my 6 year old son was so excited, of couse i had the movie camera on them the whole entire time, he was too cute when he said "dreams really do come true don't they mama?". i was in tears at this point, the happiness on their faces were priceless and worth every penny of this trip. we rode this day, snow white's scary adventure, mickey's philharmagic, we went to ariel's grotto, haunted mansion, cinderella's hobby horses - yeah that is what we call them. my oldest who is a boy and is 6 was terrified of mickey's philharmagic when simba popped up on the screen he cried like a baby covering his eyes. my 3 year old girl was trying to grab everything on the screen. ds was tongue tied in front of ariel! this was too cute. well we did a little shopping and back to check into the condo. after checking in we went back to magic kingdom to catch spetromagic and wishes. my little girl was in awe of tinkerbell's flight, we watched from outside of noodle station, she cried because she wanted to go find tinkerbell. well, we left the parks after wishes for a night's rest

sunday - my hubby's birthday, we decided to go to epcot this day. he loved epcot so much. i enjoyed this more as an adult than a child, but my children i think really loved it. first thing we did was ride soarin, that was sooo cool, we road the land, nemo, figment. i don't think i had ever ridden figment because i about jumped out of my seat at the end. my 6 year old was afraid of nemo, i don't understand him sometimes, you will see later that he loves the big thrill rides but the little rides startle him. my 3 year old isn't scared of anything! back to the room for a nap and then off to whispering canyon cafe for hubby's birthday dinner. this was fun, it was a lot tamer than what i had read. all the waitress done was throw the napkins and straws at us and the kids were behaving really well, i guess we taught them well and they didn't know that they could let loose a little bit! kevin (hubby) was chosen to give out the prizes for the pony ride but one stipulation - they had to yell happy birthday in his ear in order to get their prize, well my hubby is a larger man and not one kid dared yell in his ear. this was so fun to watch since he is an introvert unlike me. i had special ordered him a cake earlier in the week shaped like mickey, the kids didn't like it but is was fairly good just a little on the dry side

monday - off to animal kingdom and i couldn't wait, this park didn't exist on my last trip. we had ressies at donald's breakfastsarous. the food was NASTY, but that is another discussion in itself. mickey, donald, pluto and goofy were there and it was very organized unlike my last trip when they just went wherever instead of table to table. the kids enjoyed this so much and besides ariel this was their first encounter with any characters. we seen devine who me and preston (the 6 year old) had so wanted to see. she dropped one of her hand stilts and a very loud man was laughing at her which i thought was very very rude but she came over and was playing with preston rubbing her "hand" down his face and body. he was in shock! it was a bit on the chilly side this day and misty, we rode kilamanjari safaris and was a little disappointed with the driver and the ride in itself, he wasn't into it and not many of the animals were out. but characters were out everywhere this day. we met flik with no wait, i loved him! he told me his butt was bigger than mine! lines for camp minnie mickey were long, so we skipped this since we had already met most of them except for minnie. stitch is my son's favorite and we found him out with no wait. we went to see pooh, tigger and eeyore with no wait. this day couldn't have been any better, but oh wait we went to see nemo the musical - all i can say is AWESOME!!!! we skipped everest because everyone but me was too chicken to ride, maybe next trip! we didn't stay for the parade, kids were too tired so we left around 3 this day.

tueday - back to magic kingdom for cinderella's royal table for breakfast. they rush you through cindy, but that is the same almost with every character meet and greet. this cindy wasn't as pretty as the ones in the parade but the kids loved her. upstairs there was mary poppins, who was sooo great with the kids, dead on mary poppins, fairy godmother who wasn't in a good mood, wouldn't even let the kids get out of their chairs to take a pic with her and belle and snow white. how cute is snow white and her little voice! we took the kids pics seperately with cindy and just bought the other package, worth the money for 2 individual pics. the food was ok, the bread basket was to die for! take the blueberries off of the french toast would have been better, but still pretty good. they should give out the wands and swords last though, the kids wouldn't eat a thing because they were playing. pixie dust was put on the table for hubby's birthday and a card signed from cindy, he got one yesterday at donald's too. he was given a cake this morning for his breakfast. the wishing ceremony could have been done a little better, from where we were sitting we couldn't see cindy make her appearance. all in all a good experience but will try out epcot's princess breakfast next time. we really wanted to see jasmine but never found her the whole week. we went to ride splash mountain, big thunder mountain, pirates of the carribean (capt. jack was out doing his tutorial as soon as we came off), the wait for jungle cruise was 45 minutes at this point and the fast pass machines were not up and running for it. we rode carpets of aladdin and aladdin made a special appearance at the exit gate. we stayed for the 3:00 parade and sat outside of casey's eating the best hotdogs in the world!! they were sooo good, i have never ate their before. after the parade we headed back to the room

wednesday - we went to mgm, not a huge fan of this park, we watched lights motor action and we all got very bored, too much talking! so we skipped indiana jones since i knew it was kind of the same set up and the shows were scheduled so sparatically. we rode tower of terror first thing with no wait, even the 3 year old rode it, but my camera dropped out of my shirt pocket and the batteries popped up, so the entire ride i am bent down trying to get my camera back! the kids rode it but said they didn't want to ride it again. my chicken hubby actually wanted to ride it again. we went to see the power rangers, my son's favorite show in the world! he was overwhelmed and really shy, wouldn't even shake their hands! but that is all he talks about now! we wanted to catch the beauty and the beast show but the kids were tired and they didn't even want to see the parade, so we left around 2:00 after eating at 50's prime time cafe, which the "dad" was in full character, but he tried to jip us out of our change, he were $19 short. i told him our change wasn't right and he knew automatically that he owed us a $20 and i gave him a $1 bill back to make it right. he had the 20 in his front pocket. now, mind you i didn't tell him how much we were short, he knew and gave us some off the wall excuses about how he messed up, but they didn't make any sense. so, after leaving we were infuriated after contemplating it. wonder how many times he has done this before and people didn't notice?

thursday - we went back to epcot to do the worl showcase, but first was test track, no wait, so we rode it 2 times in a row, the kids and us loved this ride so much, even though i walked around with bad hair the entire day! we went over to do world showcase. most of the performances didn't start until later in the day around the time we normally leave, so we were disappointed. we did lunch at tippenyaki, everyone was in full authentic attire and ethnicity, but ended up having a white cook, he was funny and great with the kids though. the only prob i have with the showcase is too much alcohol all around you, it was only noon and people were drinking heavily. hubby and i do drink occasionally but the kids have never been exposed to us drinking so we decided to call it a day. i think walt would turn over in his grave if he seen this place and especially downtown disney where at every turn people reaked of alcohol. we went there this night to let the kids spend rest of the souvenior money. epcot was fun, maybe we can fully enjoy world showcase next time when the kids are old enough to last all day

friday - our last day so we went back to mk. we rode the train over to toon town and met with some more characters, rode barnstormer, teacups and then low and behold perfect timing, cindy's step mother and sisters were making their appearance right around the corner from where we were taking a smoke break. i threw out my cigarette and dragged the kids over, i could have watched these girls all day, by far they were in character! i loved them

saturday - we left out and came home - BIBBITY BOBBITY BLAH!

now if i can only figure out how to post pics i will put some on here!

this trip was very tiring but very rewarding, i am suffering from disney withdrawel already!

as a side note, we were chosen on our first day to be in the family fun day parade, this man tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if he could ask me a few questions about a special promotion - i swear my heart fell down into my stomach thinking we had won the stay at cindy's castle, well that sucked but we did the parade thing anyway, it was kind of cool, just time consuming. in our whole week stay we didn't see the dream squad not one time, and only seen 3 dream fastpasses and maybe a dozen or less of the hats! i had my eyes open everywhere we went. if you didn't know about the promotion before you got there you wouldn't have known anything special was going on!

don't get me wrong we loved the characters at donald's breakfast, they were great! the food wasn't though, the eggs were so runny! the cold bar was good though, fruit, bagels, yogurt, my 3 year old could eat fruit for all 3 meals!
