Knowing my luck they will have a full rehab that last all of July.
Haunted Mansion or Splash Mountain?

Haunted Mansion really needs a rehab bad. Splash Mountain needs to be touched up with paint and they need to fix the animatronics. I think both need to go down for a long rehab.

The other day in Haunted Mansion my girlfriend rode without any audio the entire ride, while I was one Doombuggy ahead of her. Every time we ride, the audio either goes out or we hear static and random crackling. It reminds me of the movie White Noise (freaky) and almost always happens next to the gates to the graveyard.

Splash Mountain because I've never rode that ride. I've rode Haunted Mansion plenty of times that I could fall asleep, but my wife always screams at the pop-uppers and that wakes me up.

Some of the music and sounds seem way too loud on Splash Mountain. It hurts my ears everytime I go past the turtles. Why this ridiculous increasing of volume throughout the ride and rides at Epcot too? Circle of Life is way too loud and the Nemo ride at Seas is so terribly loud in some parts, adding to the dumb nature of the sound loops being to short when they slow down the ride for the wheelchair loadings. I mean come on, how many times do we need to hear "Grab Shell Nemo, Its the EAC!":hammer:

Spaceship Earth. When the speakers go static it sounds like little explosion in your ears. You can feel the mushroom clouds coming out of your ears.

  • While riding the Haunted Mansion last night (7:00ish) we noticed that the right saucer plate that makes up the Hidden Mickey's ear in the ballroom scene was gone. It wasn't moved around on the table to another spot; it was completely gone. I'm sure it will be back shortly, but thought it was interesting to report.
That's an unofficial Hidden Mickey that the imagineers remove from time to time before a cast member puts it back in.

I'm thinking somebody already said that, just in a different way. Yeah.

Now...is it true that there's a skeleton hand coming out of the ground in the graveyard that's holding a FastPass? (I heard it's near the end right before you see the Hitchhiking Ghosts and I've seen a hand coming out of the ground but I can't make out if it's holding a FastPass or not)

What the heck? No. :ROFLOL:

I rode HM about a week ago and the now missing plate was there. Tonight however, when I tried to point it out to my friend, it wasn't there. I was very surprised.

So I guess the verdict is that Imagineers move in and then CMs put it back. In 21 years of going to Disney World I've never seen it missing before this week. Today I didn't even notice it on the table in a different spot. On the table you could see where it was supposed to be since the table cloth looked less faded in that spot.

It's there far more often than it's not.

I heard there was like a written layout for how the silverware and plates should be positioned on the ride... but then a sneaky cast member made the mickey. And like everyone else has said, it's been a battle between Imagineers and Cast Members ever since.

Glad you got a good laugh...

Sorry for being inquisitive...I saw this and wondered if it was really there.

Doesn't surprise me that the hidden mickey is gone. There are imagineers all over property right now. Especially at the new Turtle talk theater! Its lookin great!

They probably did a sweep of the HM and did what they always do, move stuff back to their right place. lol

I really don't see why the Hidden Mickey is a big deal. A lot of the public obviously know about it already and it's something fun to look for and point out. It's not like it is anything offensive or something someone would complain about. It is a completely harmless little detail that I'm sure half of the average tourists just overlook.
