Water management permit granted for "Disney's Contemporary Suites" DVC Resort

Wow, so this pretty much guarantees that there will be "Disney's Contemporary Suites." Sure, that art over the summer was strong evidence, but now there's written evidence.

16 stories? Exactly how many villas do they need? I thought it would be around 13/14 stories (so it would be a bit shorter than the main tower).

Sounds exciting though. Can't wait to see it (although 2008 sounds a bit early).

It's nice that they've been refurbishing the Contemporary completely these last several months--it's really needed it. I am guessing the DVC may have had something to say about that--since they will be sharing some of the facilities. How about a cool, futuristic theme pool now! They could make a really cool pool w/ the Contemporary theme...it's nice to see a new DVC Resort that I'll actually see--I never really see any of the others but this one will be hard to miss from the Magic Kingdom!

That's what I would assume.

I'd also consider it to be more of a "skyway" than a "tunnel."

That Skyway looks like it was designed just for me! It appears to weave at just about the right amount for my drunken stumble "home" :lookaroun

Well if you look at the pictures carefully, you can see that the skyway goes to the north end of the fourth floor, right where the glass wall is.

"tunnel in the sky" .... how bout that? .... it looks like it would be really cool to walk through whatever it is

I think that you will be required to show your DVC brand that is tattoed on your forehead before you can pass through this "tunnel."

maybe the whole "Disney is being greedy" thing isn't the case. The way the new tower is oriented, only about a third of the rooms will even have a view of the Magic Kingdom. A majority of guests will have a waterview room. The views really should be pretty spectacular for everyone.

I'm a little torn on this one. I truly understand that alot of people don't want to take away from the "look" of The Contemporary and fell threatened that the new Villas will block the view of MK, but I always thought that Walt felt that progress is good. I really don't think that Disney would permit the building of a new tower if it would block the view from the old one. I'm hoping that the new tower will add to the "look" of the old one, not detract from it.

I for one, am hoping to stay (DW won't let me add-on here) at the new C tower.
