Hockey games?

My mother and I really cant go without hockey for 2 weeks. We also dont want to miss the NHL All Star game next week, but we are going to be down in Orlando. So I thought the ESPN Club would show it, yes? Or maybe Official All Star Café at the Wide World Of Sports?

ESPN will definately be showing it -- and you will find that a lot of the resort bars will be showing it as well.

You can also check out many of the places down in Downtown Disney - lots of them have TV's and will put the game on if you request.

I would personally go to ESPN if you want the "gametime" experience -- one caveat to beware, though...

People in Florida, for the most part, have NO IDEA what hockey is, and most likely you will be watching it totally by yourselves. I often ask them to put on WIngs games while down there, and NOBODY else watches except me. You can expect that there will be zero interest in the all-star game since they don't know any of the players and all-star games are relatively superfluous there. Enjoy, have fun, and make your own party!

You should have no problem getting anyone to change the channel, as long as you're not trying to turn from the NFL playoffs.

All Star is ok, but I would try ESPN first.

If you want to venture off property, BW3's, or Buffalo Wild Wings is a fun place to watch stuff, it's located at Cross Roads near DTD. You want to drive, too far to walk.

The Tampa Bay Lightning won a Stanley.
Lest ye forget the Miami Panthers (not Florida, Miami is no longer part of Florida).
Most of our games are sold out.
Most people living in Florida are from somewhere up north.
And most of the people at Disney will be from somewhere else too.

Unfortunately there just not that many puck fans out there.
I played 4 years at U of M
It saddens me that Basketball has a huge fan base, and hockey has nothing.

This year the NHL All Star Game is on a Wednesday, so it won't interfere with the NFL Playoff's.

Although in the United States it's going to be on Versus & since WDW Resorts don't carry that channel, I don't know if the ESPN Club will have it either.

ESPN will show it,unless it's during the NFL playoffs then you will have trouble changing the channel with football being on.

Any chance you can call the restaurant and ask them if they intend to carry the All-Star Game?

Lots of sports bars will actually advertise what they plan on airing. Even if they have various TVs throughout the bar, they often have one big TV and they'll advertise what's going to be on the big one (not sure if they're legally supposed to, but I've seen the ads in various free papers, locally, anyway).

Depending on where you're staying, your resort's lounge might show the game as well. Nothing wrong with asking, it only costs the price of a call.

That maybe true but I don't think any where in WDW would be showing the NHL All Star Game since non of the Resorts carry the channel called Versus, which will be broadcasting the game to viewers in the United States. If I am wrong about that please forgive me, but if non of the WDW Resorts carry Versus why would the ESPN Club be any different?

The All Star game is on Versus so that is what people in this country think about Hockey. ESPN might carry it but the resorts probably won't it's not worth it to them when the game is on a wed.

ESPN will not be carrying the game because they don't have a contract anymore to broadcast NHL games. The networks to broadcast NHL across the United States (National Games) is Versus & NBC. Why the game is not on NBC I don't know, since every place you go has it on their TV's. However the game is on Versus & that's the way it is.

If the ESPN Club has Dish Network & they carry Versus then there is a better chance of them maybe playing the All Star Game.

I would think they would carry Direct TV over Dish because you can only get NFL Sunday ticket on Direct

Why the game is not on NBC I don't know, since every place you go has it on their TV's. However the game is on Versus & that's the way it is.

I talking about ESPN zone and yes they can carry it. All they have to do is get versus which Direct TV carries.
