Yes I work in the Groups Office at the front desk. Ellen is my direct supervisor. She is WONDERFUL! I'm here every hour of the day it seems, so you probably have seen me! :D

Oh my - it is a small world after all!! So I guess we did run into you. We made sure we visited her alot and thanked her for all of the wonderful things she did for us. Maybe on our next vacation in December I will be sure to say hi!! We will be there the 1st-8th this year.

Oh well doesn't seem like it's working. Anyway, I won't be here next Christmas. I am going to be friends with Goofy soon.

I think if we can get the boat for 8 it is like $30 a person. $225.00 I think it is. Doesn't sound bad if we split it like that. What do you think?

That sounds good because I always wanted to do the fireworks cruise. We had it booked on our last vacation, but we had to cancel it  . Are you talking about the Grand Gatherings Cruise or the Specialty Cruise. They both are for the fireworks. You have to reserve them early because they book up fast. I don't know much about the Grand Gatherings Cruise so I would have to look into that, but I do know the Specialty Cruise is $225.

I just wanted to toss in that you don't HAVE to have the 8 people per boat... In fact, sometimes having 8 can be a little crowded.

If you guys WANT to go together, that's great! I just wanted to make sure you knew you didn't HAVE to. Heck, you could rent a boat for only yourself if you wanted to.

I'd also suggest that you maybe look at the Breathless. It's a BEAUTIFUL wooden boat that leaves from The Beach Club, and goes around the World Showcase lagoon inside Epcot and then parks underneath the bridge between France and the International Gateway to watch the fireworks. All the other boats, including the ones you're talking about, are pontoons. Still fun, but not the same as a Mastercraft (I think) reproduction. I think the Breathless seats 7, too. Not positive about that.

Either way, have a GREAT time!!

Awesome !!

That is what I think of the fireworks cruises. We have done the pontoon at Epcot and Wishes. Then on our Dec. 05 trip we were staying at the Grand Floridian and a cast member had been stood up for a MVMCP fireworks cruise. Anyway she invited us along and we got a great show for free. (Talk about a little magic! She got a cool tip and call to her boss for making the start of a long trip amazing). This year we stretched and got the Grand1 for a Christmas fireworks show and I will be doing it every year from now on. The boat holds up to 13 and we had friends come down for the day to make it extra special. The view from the water and not having to fight off 10k people when it is time to go back to the dock is worth every penny regardless of which boat you take. I highly recommend any of these options but I really LOVED the Grand1 experience. BTW the captain told us they were waiting on a new 52ft boat.

I have done both the Illuminations Cruise and the Wishes Cruise. It was 12/27/03-1/3/04 and we did them one night after the other. We were staying at the Dolphin so getting to the Illuminations Cruise was like a walk down the hall. We went down the river by Crescent Lake to MGM and then back up to Epcot to dock under the bridge between the UK and France, where we viewed the show. The view was amazing, those islands in the our point of view did not obstruct the viewing of the Globe moving or any other part of the show. We learned many cool facts and somewhat "inside" jokes about the area from our skipper. The next night we did the Wishes cruise. Although the view was amazing, you could not hear any part of the vocals or music on the Wishes Cruise. I'm not sure if this is the same on the cruises now though (it has been over 3 years since we did it, plenty of time for change). The skippers for this cruise also gave cool facts about the seven-seas lagoon, Bay Lake (I think it was called that), the water bridge, the MK tunnels, and we even got a close up view of the water pagent.

Does anybody know if you are able to hear the music now on the Wishes Cruise (clearly, not faintly) as this was a fun way to view the show and we still haven't seen the show from a good spot, during our next trip (Feb 2006) we ended up watching the show from Fantasyland after a bad experience on the Pooh ride: we got in line for a 10-minute wait, but the man at the top of the line would allow almost 45 FASTPASS people go for every 1 standered queue person. It turned into a 45-minute wait and we got out 30-seconds before the show began. It wasn't easy to watch as they lunch fireworks from the Pooh building (next to the castle) and from behind the park. I'm just wondering if they added a stereo system or something to the cruise ships to hear the music to the fireworks?

From what I understand you can choose to have the audio piped into your boat, but it cost extra. In my opinion, I would pay the extra money for the music because that plays an important part in the show. Oh-I know what you mean about the Pooh ride, on our last trip it was supposed to be a 10 min. wait but ended up being much longer.
