How do we get to Boardwalk from All Star movies

How would we get to the Boardwalk from ASMovies using Disney transportation? Would we have to take a bus to, say, DTD or a park, then another bus to the Boardwalk?

We're thinking of going to either Spoodles or the ESPN club after we go to Universal.

Yes.

If you don't mind a little more walking, you can go to Epcot, then walk out International Gateway (aka, "The back door") and to Boardwalk. I think from Epcot* to the resort, it's about a 10 minute walk, 15 if you stroll and soak in the atmosphere. . Don't want to walk? Both Epcot & the Studios have boat launches that go to all of the Epcot resorts (Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan & Dolphin). But you're right in that there is no one direct route from All Star to any other resort.

* EDIT: Any by "from Epcot to the resort" I mean from the International Gateway Entrance, which is off of World Showcase, between (I think) England & France. From the front gate to Epcot would, of course, take much much longer.

How are you getting to Universal? If you have or are renting a car, just make reservations at a Boardwalk restaurant, and drive there. You'll be given permission to park there for 3 hours or so. And while I wouldn't be able to guarantee anything, if we're talking a later reservation, after the parks close, Disney security might be more lax in letting you stay longer (they usually only have a problem with people trying to avoid parking in the parking lot for Epcot or other parks)

Well, we only have 5-day tickets and since we're going to Universal that day, we won't be able to enter a park though I'd love to walk there.
So we'll probably just ze buses.

Thanks!

My suggestion would be to take the bus to MGM, then the boat to Boardwalk, you don't even have to go into a park. If you do Epcot you would have to use your tickets and if you don't have a park hopper or are not going to a Disney park that day it would be a problem. Where as the boat launch from MGM is outside the gates. You could also walk from MGM to Boardwalk but it's a little bit of a walk.

What he said. Sorry I didn't think to ask if you only had park-hoppers or not.

When you're done, you'll probably have to take a bus back to DTD and from there another to ASM (but that would give you time to spend at Pleasure Island, if you're so inclined). But to get to Boardwalk, probably the most enjoyable ride possible would be to bus to the Studios and then take a boat to Boardwalk.

the resort-park-resort gimmick is my best bet to get to a resort

Great, thanks! This is the only table-service meal we're having in a resort and I was trying to find the easiest route for 3 tired people =)

If you're ever not sure just go to Downtown Disney and take the bus to AS from there simply because DTD is open the latest. But there are a million ways to get anywhere now. :)

Ah, now THAT sounds perfect. Would the boat ride be shorter than the bus?

Not sure of the bus schedule... from the resort to DTD to MGM to Boardwalk?

I would go straight to MGM, you don't need to enter the park, and the boat or walk over to the Boardwalk (though boat would be my choice).

Just wanted to add that, from what I understand, a taxi wouldn't be all that expensive since we are talking about short trips... just another thing to think about. I'm sure somebody will have the price schedule handy for ya.

All the ways given will work but by far the fastest will be a cab which should be around $15 and will take less than 30 minutes at the absolute worst. For Disney transportation you are looking at about an hour possibly more.

I don't know why I didn't think of that. We'll actually have to take a cab from Universal, so I guess we could just get it to drop us off at the Boardwalk, then after dinner take a bus over to DTD and then to our resort.

OR we could just have dinner in DTD.
We'll hopefully figure this out before we leave.

The wife and I did the Disney transportation routes to the Boardwalk a few times and found the cab is well worth the money especially if you wind up at Jellyrolls until 2:00 AM.

Take the Downtown Disney bus and transfer to the bus going to the BoardWalk.

Exit parking and turn left. Continue through the security kiosk and past Blizzard Beach and Coronado Springs. Turn left at the gas Station opposite Disney-MGM Studios guest parking (Epcot Resorts Boulevard). BoardWalk is on the left

Option 1 (Fastest and most efficient)Take a bus from ASMovies to MGM. Get off at the Studios and go down by the water. Wait at the dock for a Friendship boat to pick you up. It will go to all the Epcot resorts before going in to Epcot via the International Gateway. If you are new to this, plan ample travel time. Allow 15-20 minutes by bus from ASMovies to MGM, then allow 20-30 minutes for the boat ride from MGM to Boardwalk, not including wait time at the Studios.

Option 2 (Fast and you'll get some exercise) Start out the same; bus to MGM. Upon your arrival ask the driver to point out the sidewalk that will lead you to the EPCOT resort area. Follow the sidewalk which will take you under an overpass and along a waterway that will lead you behind the Boardwalk Villas. Follow the sidewalk around til you reach the Boardwalk. The dance club should be on your left and JellyRolls should be on your right.
