Magic Kingdom closing early???

Hi, anyone know why the Magic Kingdom would close early on the week of April 16th. We are going at that time, and when I looked for the times for April, I noticed that the Magic Kingdom closes at 7:00 on April 21st. I found that a little strange. Anyone know why? Thanx, Tina

I'm not sure that that totally answers your question, though. We're going April 23-30 and MK closes at 7 on the 27th and 28th as well. In fact, there is only one day that week that it closes at 11, with two nights of closing at 9 and one night closing at 10. I'm not totally sure why they close so early that week. My best guess is that it is because Easter is over, so there is a brief lull in business until the Memorial Day weekend rush, which would then kick off the summer rush. Whatever the reason is, I think it stinks. Nothing like trying to do some advance planning with the assumption that the joint will close late, being Spring and all, only to find that you have to juggle your days around because the clowns decided to close up early. :lookaroun

The 27th and 28th of April are Grad nights as well.
The extra MK hours during the week are in an effort to "make up" the lost MK time to guest staying throughout the period.

I'm not sure what "extra" hours you're talking about, considering they only stay open until 11 on one of those nights. 10 could be considered a normal closing time, whereas, IMO, 9 is still early...at least for that time of year.

9 is normal for April-May, aside from where Easter Falls. At least that was the case when I visited the last week of April in 2005.

Ya, you're probably right. They've been open later than that when we've gone before in April, but those times, it was either Easter week, or the week right after Easter, when it was busier. Both times, it was the week of April 12th. This year, we're going the last week of April and Easter falls earlier anyway, which, I guess, would account for the earlier closing times.
