MK and AK have both reached certain levels of phased closing today due to reaching capacity. Thanks to photodave for sending in the info.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

I'd imagine it's only going to get busier as the weekend & NYE approaches and the weather improves to highs in the 80's!

It has been crazy at AK the past few days. But even that has not compared to the MK (literally wall to wall people in the castle hub).

I was at the MK today, and in a matter of 5 hours, I was only able to ride two attractions: TTA and CoP. I actually waited about a good 15 mins for the TTA. Lunch also took close to two hours (including hunting down a table, getting chairs, buying the food, and eating it).

What a crazy day I experienced! And what beautiful weather, too. :D

If I remember right, AK has a pretty low capacity compared to MK and Epcot. Correct me if I'm wrong, though. Yes, the park is huge, but it's not meant to handle as many people as MK. I'll be floored if I hear Epcot hit phase 4.

As far as i observed, the turnstyles were never closed, just the car parks. And i heard from some guests that MGM parking was closed as well.

Monorail transit was limited to resort ID at some point.

Wow, 15 minutes for the TTA, was the setup with zig zagging chains?

unfortunately, next week is supposed to have highs in the 70s, so hopefully Typhoon Lagoon will not have bad crowds :D

AK does indeed have a lower capacity than the MK. Though the park is huge, a good chunk of the park is the safari ride of course.

More important than sheer size, AK capacity is limited by food and attraction limits. There are fewer attractions at AK (thus fewer queues to hold guests) and fewer restaurants to service the guests (this is a biggie!) You can't admit one million guests if you can only feed 100,000 (exaggerated numbers).

Though I cannot (or will not) reveal the exact numbers considered capacity (or the numbers reached to determine phases of closing), I can say that AK's capacity number is less than 2/3's of the MK's. In other words, for every 3 people MK can hold, AK can hold less than 2.

Further confirming I will never go Xmas week again. I remember a 2.5 hr ride for Land. Longest line I've ever been in. NEVER again. I love you Value season.

Epcot at 2:00pm:

Soarin' - 180 min
Test Track - 110 min
Mission: Space - 80 min

Even Journey into Imagination w/Figment was a 40 min wait...

My grandparents-in-law are seasonal at Cosmic Ray's. They said the doors were closed for Cosmic Ray's and access was limited to one of the doors by Sonny Eclipse. The line from that door was all the way down to the Indy Speedway.

WOW. When Figment's pulling in those wait times, you know it's busy!

I'll be there next week, when everyone goes home and back to school and work!

We thank them for tourist dollars... No state income tax for us here in The Sunshine State!

Holy smokes batman. Thats downright ludicrous.

I cant see waiting in line for 3 hours to ride a 5 minute attraction. Further, I cant see waiting in that kind of line to eat a hamburger.
