I figure one of these days he's bound to walk into the lamp while on his way out of the kitchen with something to eat. Then he'll want to know why I put that blasted thing there! Gotta love him!
I'm going to have to move one of the end tables this year to make room for the tree, since we now have Dave's father's Grandfather Clock in the spot where we usually put the tree. I'm guessing he'll notice around January when I ask him to bring the thing back upstairs!

I'm always itching to change things around. When we lived in our house, we'd rearrange the furniture often. But here, there's not a lot of room for options. So I tend to change things by getting rid of things. George and I both hate clutter, so the less junk in a room the better!

Everything OK Dan?

Daniel. . .are you okay, sweetheart?

Health-wise, yes. It has a bit to do with school... namely, grades.

OK, this sounds stupid, so I'll just say it: My grades came back last week (report card), and I did kind of bad for my standards (78.5 average, compared to about 83 last year). Thus, I've been rather limited to computer access the whole week... well, more like plain cut off entirely.

However, on Fridays and Saturdays, I can log on, provided I "study" for as long as I'm online.

Needless to say, I'm a bit irked by this, considering that I've actually BEEN trying to boost the grades in a big way, ever since Monday. There's another complication in there, too, but THAT'S the hard one to describe.

On the plus side, though:

1. I received an academic honour roll award on Wednesday night (ironic, huh? )

2. We put up all of our Christmas stuff today. At a height of 9 feet and 3 inches, this is the biggest tree we've ever had. (So big, in fact, that it had to go upstairs in the living room this year!)

3. I'm going on my Ottawa trip in 10 days! Pics aplenty! :sohappy:

Your folks are just looking out for your best interests Dan. Just pull those grades back up again, and they'll change their tune I'm sure. Your not the first teen that that's happened to...

9 feet! Good lord, how do you decorate all that?!!!

With great difficulty. (On both counts!)

As for the parents, I really know they mean well. It just frustrates me that they're not noticing how hard I'm trying this time around. (And, yes, I'll admit, I was kind of "coasting" on my marks these past couple months.)

Like I said, there's another factor in there that's kind of hard to describe. I really do appreciate the support, though, that you've all given me these past few years.

EDIT: Whaddaya mean, just over 2 years?!?!

We'll miss you during the week Danny, but this is important stuff. You'll get it together, I'm sure. You can only do your best.

Your parents probably know you better than you think they do. They know what you're capable of. Hang in there, kiddo!

I was going to take some pics, but then my mom asked for the memory card. We're using this pic for our Christmas cards this year:

*sigh*... Yeah, I know. It just feels like everything's piling on at once...
