Nice!
Is he taking a date?
Did he and you agree on his outfit choice for the evening?
Actually a girl asked him!
It's kind of odd, but homecoming is neither formal nor informal, but he's decided on a sports jacket and khakis (can't go wrong with that!). We ordered flowers for his date, but he thinks most of the girls won't have them - it's more of a prom thing I guess. I think when DD went, her date gave her a rose, but I'm not really sure about that either....

Sounds good!
I'm sure the flowers will be appreciated even if she opts to leave them in the car.

That's how I feel too.
It's so cute though, he's never shown much of an interest in this girl before, but now that she asked him, he's head-over-heels. I will say she is a big improvement over his previous "interests" though...

Yay for big improvements! :sohappy:

I'm sure you've been through it too, but it's so hard to watch them totally enamoured with someone that you know isn't the right one, knowing full well that you can't tell them that...

So hard.
You learn to keep your mouth shut and wait. . .
Hoping that they'll outgrow it and move on. . . without getting hurt.

Both kids have put us through this, but it doesn't get any easier. I think as parents, especially moms, we want so badly to protect them, but some lessons just have to be learned the hard way. Right now they both seem to have a good head on their shoulders, so I guess we're doing something right.

I don't know what to do today. My DH took Joel for a haircut, so I said a prayer for him....Joel HATES clippers, and that's all I can do. Mike's going to bribe hime with a toy if he's good .

But I need to clean!!! 1 1/2 weeks till we leave and I don't want to come home to a dirty house. What to do...hmmmm...

Same here. It took time and a good bit of anguish for George and me, but they ultimately learned how to make better choices. As I've told our ISons in the past, teen girls. . . even the smartest of them. . .really don't know what they want when it comes to boys. For whatever reason the bad boy has the most appeal. . .till the girls finally learn that a boy who treats you well and shares your outlook and interests is worth a thousand pretty faces.

*prayers that Joel's haircut goes well*

I actually enjoy cleaning right before a trip. :lookaroun
But then again, those few weeks before a vacation are so heady, anything I do becomes a little more exciting!

I always do a big cleaning before we go away too - change all the bed linens and what not too. Drives DH totally crazy, but I love to come home to a clean house!
