Uhhhh...yea. I've been meaning to get to that.

Wow....you guys are good!
My mom and I haven't even started!!! :lookaroun

Hey Freddy!

Enjoying your day's off? Nice long weekend for you! Yay!!! :sohappy:

As to the Christmas list... the older I get the more people I have to shop for... LOL And now my list is crazy long. So if I don't start early I'd run the risk of being either short 50 or so gifts... or using my emergancy credit card... both of which would stink. LOL So... i take 2-4 people a week for the 3 months prior to Christmas... so I can stick to my budget and get everyone done... with no debt! LOL That's the way I like to shop. ;)

See... my usual problem is tripping up the steps - b/c i'm always taking them 3 at a time. LOL But... I was in my pj pants the other night and they're too long for me... my heel got caught and at 2 in the morning i went tumbling down 16 steps... I can laugh now, but at the time i was in some serious pain. :( The thing killing me know is the stupid bruises... i have one right above my knee that's about the size of a softball and it's all black and blue... which makes it look worse than it feels. ;) Oh well... good war stories.

My school has lots of stairs, and I trip up them all the time.
I have yet to completely fall down them (**knocks on wood**), but I trip up lots!

Back from shopping - not finished, but I'm getting there. I've cut back a lot on who I buy for, and that helps a lot. We usually do a donation to Make-a-Wish in the name of people that we used to buy gifts for, and I think they appreciate that much more than a gift. Basically, now it's just immediate family, and a few friends.

Oh...I don't mind asking what they want...but usually they can't tell me anything they do want. Hence lies the problem.
Dave's side of the family makes a list at Thanksgiving for everyone. I've always hated that - I like finding things that suit people without them telling me. Makes it more of a challenge!

That's a good idea! Jay and I always did two angels every year. That was always fun... giving Christmas to two kids who otherwise would have gone without.

This year I'm just doing one by myself. I have a 3 y/o little girl. Should be fun. :)

I just found out that we're exchanging names this year for Christmas so instead of 6 aunts and uncles, 4 grandparents and 7 cousins... Lizzy and I have 2 names. LOL That REALLY simplifies things. So that just leaves immediate family, and Lizzy! (who btw is getting lot's of educational things this year! :sohappy: LOL So far I've gotten her several interactive books. A leap frog Toddler learning set, The Little Mermaid (ok that's not educational, but still lots of fun ;) Slowly working away at my list.

I can't seem to find christmas jammies anywhere though. We have a tradition of christmas jammies every christmas eve and usually i find them way in advance... but i can't seem to find any for kiddo. So... if any of you mom's happen to come accross Toddler Christmas Jammies... let me know please!

Jess - sorry to hear about your fall - that's not fun!

awww no... lol it wasn't fun at all. But oh well... teach me to walk downstairs without my glasses in the middle of the night. ;)

We do angels too from church. They have a program here for children whose fathers (or sometimes mothers) are in prison, so the family has minimal income. They give us a list and we set up a tree at church for people to take angels from. Each kid gets one "toy" type thing, and one "clothing" gift. Sometimes they ask for specific things, but most times it's pretty much up to the giver to decide. Two weeks before Christmas, we wrap all the gifts if they haven't been wrapped already, and tag them and deliver them to the kids.

I started doing the Make-a-Wish gift when my kids were in elementary school. It seemed so much better than buying yet one more coffee cup or whatever, and the teacher's really appreciated it. Now that the kids are past that age, we continue it to acknowledge the special people in our lives who really don't need another "coffee cup" type gift!

I soooo agree. LOL I love searching for something that i know the person would love. So much more fun that just buying them something off their list.

Our angel tree works as such: You pick a random name, and then open up the envelope and it has the child's age, and clothing size on it. No specifics other than that. So... I always do a learning toy. A "fun" toy. A little stocking with fun treats and then a mix and match outft, usually a pair of jeans with a couple tops and a jacket or something along those lines. Socks and Underwear are staples for my angels. LOL I figure every kid can use new socks and underwear. No matter the age or season. ;)

And for people I don't know well...

I'm baking cookies and treats for Lizzy's teachers. I have no clue how to personalize a gift to someone I barely know... so i just stick to baking/making sweet treats. I figure that's always appreciated and enjoyed. :king:

That's the spirit Susan!!

I am back I did get some done.:sohappy:

OK....I am now Thanksgiving ready. :)

Looks better.:sohappy:

Hi Nibbs! I know what you mean - I hate to ask people what they want too - it's just too commercial that way!

We draw names and we try to find that something special but we mostly just get gift cards for everyone. Which I hate. I want to tell my family forget giving each other things lets just be together and have fun. Save the money for a vacation to WDW. :sohappy:

:lol::lol: You are so funny. ;) LOL

Last year I knit (yes... i'm a dork) scarves for everyone... not only was it theraputic but they were the hit of the season. ;) I made them super long and everyone seemed to love them. (who knows maybe they were just being polite ) But, I did get a few requests for them this year, so maybe I did something right. ;) LOL who knows... :D
