For the experience of `eating IN PotC` it`s unbeatable. Great views, great design, superb staff. The food, we thought, was a lot of money for not a lot. In hindsight it would have cost less to eat at Walts, and we heard great things about Walts too (after Blue Lagoon)

The way that it's situated with PotC, is it like Pinocchio's Village Haus or Garden Grill where you just look down upon the ride?

Almost; you actually sit on the shoreline in an `outdoor` bamboo and palm leaf building - the beech is in front of you, then the water with the boats beginning their journey. You see them, they see you. Beyond this is a jungle, shipwreck, and finally a stormy sky with clouds racing across and a moon coming and going. You can make reservations (we did ours the day before at the restaurant entrance next to the ride exit) - although I wasn`t too impressed by the food I would say it was worth it for the experience. Not to mention the attraction went 101 and evac`d - and the work lights came on as we ate :)

Sorry - the atmosphere cannot be beat, but they have a rat problem, the food is terrible and more expensive than most of the other table service restaurants.

Walt's and the Silver Spur get my vote for the best Table Service in the parks. We have eaten at every DLP restaurant, several on many occassions. The Blue Lagoon - the fish has been cold every time I've had it. I want to love this reataurant (as I love PotC) but I don't.

In my situation, I`ve been there, glad I went, the location is amazing and I got lots of pics and video. I wouldn`t go again if things havn`t changed; I would try Walts (especially if I got a window table during a parade)

I went there last january. Its great in the cold weather, really warms you up and the setting is fantastic. Out of interest, are all the PotC rides in Disney parks heated like this one?

Anyway, we sat down and had a look at the menu but my girlfriend is vegetarian and there wasn't a great selection for her so we got up and left. Just before leaving I did see a mouse run across the floor though!

the Blue Lagoon restaurant is expensive, but does look great.

we (my family an I) were going to eat there last year but weren't over keane on their menu. (2 out of 4 of us don't like fish). Instead we opted for Walts.

the food there was great and we cam out (after nearly 2 hours) after the park had closed and main street was deserted - really most strange so took loads of photos of the Castle with an empty main street.
Despite the late time no one huried us from the restaurant and we weren't the last ones to leave either.

how is this issue with mice and rats allowed to go on?
i have read on other sites about the rat problem especially if you sit near the shore line in this restaurant.
how does disnet and the local authorities allow this.
im really amazed and disgusted by this. i would love to eat them as the setting sounds fantastic but if i encounter vermin on the restauant floor i will refuse to pay for my meal and really kick up a fuss.
if its like that in the public areas whats going on in the kitchens etc.
im sure this would never be allowed at the american parks

Its strange that they let it go on. It might have just been a couple of incidents and they have the problem sorted now. I very much doubt that they would just ignore the problem.

I would find out if anyone has seen vermin recently before avoiding the restaurant alltogether. The restaurant itself was spotless (as was the rest of the park) so its not a case of poor standards. It must be the heat of the ride which attracts them. I was there in February, it was less than 0 for 99% of the time so I would rather be indoors!

I didn't kick up a fuss when I saw a mouse but we didn't actually eat. Had we actually eaten and paid for food (its not that cheap!) things might have been different.

Sounds to me to be a clone of Blue Bayou at DL California. Great atmosphere, cruddy food. I had the shrimp and ribs. Poor quality frozen shrimp, and day old ribs.....yuck.

well just got back and must say the blue lagoon was the best place to eat (that we went to )
great atmosphere, great food we had the 3 course fot 28 euros menu which was great value and the kids for 10 euros
the food was fresh and hot, service was good....the ride did break down while we were there and the house lights camme on over that area but that was ok adds to the fun!!!
thanks for everyone feedback on this thread
