Let me repeat that. I've been with Marc for 8+ years now... Last year, the first year we were married, was the first time I've EVER seen him over the holidays because his family never included me because I wasn't "family" yet. Last year was fine, because I now was one of them.

That's. . .disturbing.

 dear heavens Bunny.... that's nuts!

I raised my kids to live their own lives. As much as I miss them when their not with me, I would never demand their presence. I want them to want to spend time with me.

 I hope I can be like you Dot. It makes such good sense.

Hi Jess! How's Princess Lizzie today?

Hey betty! Miss Liz got to be with her friends this morning, so she's napping peacefully now after wearing herself out. ;) AND I got a pair of kahki's today for $6 at Old Navy!!! Can you believe it?! I was thrilled. LOL I'm such a bargain hunter. That made my day.

How're you girly?

(And hi Nibbs and Chrissy!)

I ran into Old Navy last night to get a shirt and I saw all the stuff on sale but I didn't get a chance to look. I got excited because I saw little boys pants for 97 cents. I was going to buy some for my SIL, but they looked like Toddler sizes and her baby isn't born yet so I thought that would be skipping ahead a little to much.

I'm good! I went to Sam's Club today and finally got to talk to someone who knew about DVR's! It turns out that he'll be saving me almost $175 too!

You need to come talk to my hubby....he is a big electronics nerd!! We have so many different electronic things in our house and 2 DVRs...he always tries to tell me about the new things being released and I just don't understand anything that he is trying to tell me.

I know...I can't believe that they think it is ok. At the mall that I worked at outside of Philly we could call security and have them walk us out or at least be near by in the parking lot.

The one good thing is that so far I have been able to park in the parking garage right outside the door....the garage is really open and very well lit so that makes me feel a little bit better, but I would still feel better if there was someone else walking with me.

Yeah...I would so not be comfortable with that either. I would make one of them go with me if they won't call a security guard or something.

my husband is so not into the electronics thing. It's just not his cup of tea I guess.

I've been trying to find out if I need to have cable or satellite TV (we have neither and don't plan to have it), in order to use a DVR. I've talked to countless people about it, and was on the phone with Sony help for about 45 minutes yesterday, and no one seemed to know for sure. Furthermore, I wanted to be able to copy our family videotapes to DVD's, but didn't know if I had to have a combo unit to do it. Turns out I don't have to have cable or a combo, and I can get a decent DVR for under $100!

At least you finally got your answer and that seems like a really good price for a DVR.

I see a big pile of dishes in my sink calling my name. I thought that Jay would have helped me out last night and done the dishes.....wishful thinking on my part

I'm sure I'll be back later

Bye everyone:wave:

Hi everybody - been lurking for a while, but haven't posted. Was just reading Bunny's problems with her in-laws at Christmas. Some people...my in-laws are coming over here Dec. 9th (one week after our first trip ever to the World), but it just my FIL and step-MIL. My DH's older brother decided it was too far to drive to come over (about 3 1/2 hours), even though he and his wife have an RV and vacation all over the place with it. Last year the brilliant idea was to meet halfway at a RESTAURANT. Isn't that personal? So, our kids were stuck in the car for a couple of hours, then had to go into the restaurant and sit some more. Not a brilliant solution for an autistic kid (one of the ways my son 'stims' is running back and forth). Plus the whole time I don't think either one of them spoke to my DH ONCE. So, we said never again. Ultimately, you have to do what works for you and your spouse. You have created your own family with your own traditions..if extended family refuses to accept that, it is THEIR loss.

By the way, three weeks to Disney, and although the excitement is at a high, I am nervous. I want this to be good for both kids, but I worry so much about Joel. Disney looks overwhelming for a neuro-typical kid, so I really want to minimize chances of meltdowns. I have lots of suggestions from others already, but I welcome any more. (hint, hint)
I have Disney on the brain ALL THE TIME :hammer:- AAAAAHHH!!!

There..... fit over ....... feel better :o

I'm sure if Bonny reads this, she will have plenty of advice to give too. She takes MJ to the parks all the time.
