Need to vent....

Why can't I please everybody all at once?
I swear..if I do one thing I upset one person..if I do another thing..I upset someone else....I can not please anybody..WHY? WHY? WHY?
I seem to never be able to make the right decisions..I try to do whats best for everyone but in the end..someone is not happy..so whats the point?

Ok...I am done venting

Hopefully this won't backfire on them....I tend to get really cranky and grumpy when I'm tired...I am making no promises to be nice to the lazy people
Join the club, we got jackets.
Where is it that you work?

Keys to the Kingdom/The trip of a lifetime!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I guess I'll start at the beginning...
This past summer the kids started begging us to go back to Disney. It was the most fun that we'd ever had on vacation and we all were anxious to get back
I began searching for deals...you see the "Disney World jar" was empty! I happened to see the link to win a trip and thought "why not?". Never in a million years would I have thought that my family (from the middle of nowhere, as my DS puts it) could win.
Around the beginning of September, I had a message on our machine from someone who wanted to talk to me about the sweepstakes I had entered. I am extremely skeptical of everything and have to admit...I was looking for the catch! I listened to it a few more times and then called my DH at work. He had me walk through the message a few times and said well, call him back and see what he wants.
I call and he starts by telling me that I am his grand prize winner...I listen waiting for the catch...He assures me that there is no catch and that I am indeed the grand prize winner...at that point, I screamed and got all choked up while doing the "happy dance"
I have to admit even when I hung up-I couldn't believe it! I call my DH back and he couldn't believe it either!
I anxiously awaited all the necessary paperwork...all the while waiting for the "catch". There appeared to be none...
The man was wonderful and so patient with me as I asked many questions and he was extremely excited about this trip.
As a matter of fact, everyone that I spoke with was excited!
It was still a little hard to believe though! Us? Out of all the people who entered? I was a little hesitant to tell our kids because I was afraid that it wasn't real! That somehow it was a joke or they had made a mistake...

Well, I received the paperwork and it all seemed to be legitimate...I started to fill it out and started to think about how to tell the kids...

That's all for tonight...We have to be up early...

Hello.

Just finished Book the Third: The Wide Window in A Series of Unfortunate Events.

It only took me since after school. These books are quick reads.

How is everyone?

It'll all work out Dana. You can't please everybody. Trust me, I've learned that the hard way...what matters is making the people that you love the most happiest...and the rest will fall into place.

You know you like it! :D
Why are you defending the seniles?
I think so. It's about 3 miles from you just on the other side of the airport.
Huh... I don't know... I went to the kid's center.
Near/in... Frankford? Maybe?

I remember those.
They were quick.
But I never read the last two.
I assume it ends unfortunately, though. :lookaroun

DH and I thought about surprising the kids and not telling them until time to leave, but realized that the anticipation of this trip would be half the fun! So while they were at school, I went to the store and bought two suitcases. We travel, but we're usually a road trip family... They needed luggage that was on wheels to pull through the airport. This was their first time to fly!

So after dinner that evening, we let them finish their homework. We figured not much concentrating would go on after we told them!
Earlier in the day, I had found the press release from June that talked about the sweepstakes. It is the one posted on many sites. We called the kids into the family room and I began reading...."Ever wish you could have the Magic Kingdom all to yourself? Well, one lucky family will get to do just that..."

About this time, I look at my DS and anyone who has a 13 year old knows that he was wondering why he had to stop playing video games for this
Of course, DD says..."How cool would that be?"

So I skimmed through the text and just read the parts that would give a big build up and then my DH, in his best announcer voice booms "And the winner is...The Spangler Family!"

I'll tell you, I would have given a large sum to have someone snap a picture at that moment. I have not seen that much animation on my DS's face in 6 months!
He was like..."We won? Are you serious?"
He was so excited that he just couldn't contain his emotion... jumping out of his chair for a hug!
DD was doing jumping up and down and singing, "We're going to Disney World!"

The suitcases came out of the closet and they realized that we were going to get to fly this time. This was cause for another round of excitement!

It really was incredible! I still didn't truly believe that this wonderful thing was happening to us!
This was real Disney magic!
Then reality kicked in...so much to do in so little time!!! Usually, I have a year to get ready for Disney...this time just a few weeks!

Stay tuned...our countdown begins
