Is there a story that you would like to see Disney do an animated feature of?

I always thought they should Hansel & Gretal. I could just imagine the animation they could come up with!

A few I have always thought would be good:

1. rapunzel (although it is in production of some sort right now)
2. rumplestiltzkin
3. Edgar Alan Poe's The Raven (would be a stretch, but a wonderfully creepy film concept)
4. Full-length Pecos Bill
5. Tortoise and the Hare

Ooooooh, the Raven. That would be diffrent.
They could do a kind of Nightmare before Christmas thing.

I dont know if this would be controversal or not, but I would definately love to see a biblical story. I know dreamworks did a couple, so some of the ones Im thinking of may just be like copying. But I always wondered why disney would never attempt to do a biblical story, I guess because it would be so controversal with all the detailed bible readers and such, I dont know.

They Did! The closest thing Disney ever did to any religious tale was "Small One" about a Boy and a Donkey and The Nativity. It was done I believe around the 1970's. I know it's out on VHS I don't think it's out in any Disney Treasures as of yet or any of the christmas ones they make.

A story about Sampson maybe? That would fit the hero rise and fall cliche'!:brick:

How about:

The Fall of the House of Usher
Moby ________
The Dark Materials
The Jumping Frog of Calivarus County
Some Norse Mythology would be good too

I would like for them to remake "Old Yeller". I also would like to see Disney make a version of the classic characters in a new film. A Pixar movie with Goofy, Donald and Mickey. Like the old Goofy cartoons where he is working out and things like that.

Along those lines, I have always thought that Disney could do a great job (and do perennial sales) with a top-notch animated feature of The Little Drummer Boy, if they could get the rights. Think of all the animal side-stories that could play into it (like with Bambi and Snow White). But the best part would be the animation of the last line from the song, when the Baby Jesus turns and smiles at the little drummer boy, with that knowing smile that says I know that you brought your best -- and it was worth more than all the gold, frankencense and myrrh!

Otherwise, any good take on the Nativity would be good. And again, a perennial seller.

As for "Old Yeller," that is one film (and "Mary Poppins" is another) that I feel does not need to be re-made. They should both be re-released on the big screen, with a modest promotional push. They are THE two live-action Disney films that I think would sell on the big screen to each generation.

Remaking them would not add anything (since they are period pieces anyhow), and would most likely risk hurting a classic by the temptation to make it just the next vehicle for the Disney Channel stars of the day! ("Look, here comes Raven from the next farm over; don't we have a suite, uh, sweet life here on the farm with Old Yeller, Cody?" And the credits roll with the Disney Channel stars singing, "Come Back, Yeller" ....) :lookaroun

Anyone remember Fairy Tale Theater? It used to come on weekly hosted by Shelly Duvall and I remember thinking that stories they did on there like Princess and the Pea or the Dancing Princesses (where 12 sisters go dancing with magic slippers in the night) would have been neat animated features!

a decent mickey mouse movie would be good, given a 3d feel to it like the christmas one,not the three mouseketeers (dreadful), perhaps pixar could do one....

Sadly, I can totally see that happening.

I think a remake of mary poppins would bring a new edge to it. And maybe keep the character around for younger audiences since children seem to like more modern movies and cartoons. Maybe even have Burton direct that one.
