Sunray Transportation?

I stumbled across an airport transfer service offering $90 roundtrip towncar service from Orlando International to the Disney Resorts. Has anyone ever used them before? They are signifigantly cheaper than Quiksilver, I was wondering if they are comparable in service....?

I don't know about Sunray, but have you looked into Magical Express? It's free and has Disney service! I understand that many opt out of this service, but just was wondering if you looked into it. :wave:

Yeah that does seem a bit too good to be true frankly. I can vouch for Quicksilver as I have ridden with them previously and the service was outstanding. I Am also very much in favor of DME, which is included in your resort stay if you are staying on property. I have used DME On the VAST majority of my trips and have had not one issue as of yet! I havent ever heard of SunRay either good or bad, but I would check with the Better Business Bureau in Orlando and see if they have any information on them. Belle

We used them for transport from CSR to Port Canavaral and then back to SSR after the cruise. When they picked us up at Coronado, they came right to the parking lot closest to our room and loaded the luggage for us saving us the trouble of getting all our stuff to the front of the resort. There were a total of 8 of us and 2 needed carseats and 1 a booster. They were the only service willing to supply the carseats and boosters. They were very flexible and willing to work with us.

All our transport to and from the airport has been by Magical Express (since they started offering it). Prior to ME we used Quicksilver and were always satisfied with their service.

What you get is GREAT service!! Don't dismiss them because it sounds too good to be true. Cost was essentially the same as Mears and we were the only stop!! We are absolutely using them again.:sohappy:

First of all thanks a lot for all the great reviews, we truly appreciate it!!!:sohappy:

Now, Sunray have raised their rates to $100.00 round trip for a while now (not $90.00)... This is just $5.00 diferrence from our rates; I wouldn't call that too good to be true, but just cheaper... Also please dont forget, we have had nothing but consistent and good reviews from all readers here whom used us, and above all, we sponsor the site for many years now (if I'm not mistaken, 5 years).

PS: for anyone thinkling why am I so defensive... Well, I believe great service comes with good drivers, and to be able to have them happy I must pay them well. We already struggle with rates lower than regular taxi rates and to have them paid properly we can not have rates lower than that; actualy with gasoline prices soaring we will most probably raise our rates by mid year... If you want to lock your rates to our current ones please reserve as soon as possible....

I don't think Sunray takes credit cards. I think there is an internet coupon that brings the cost down to $92.

Given the price of gas it's inevitable that reputable companies will be raising their rates. QS already anticipates a price increase, taxi fares are going up. I'd be very surprised if companies like Sunray don't follow.

What's surprising that towncar service tends to cost less then a taxi. Given the meet n greet feature, combined with a complimentary stop, I'd expect the cost for a towncar to be higher not lower then a metered cab.

edited to add I use DME and before DME I rented a car. I've never used Sunray or QS, both companies seem to have their share of satisfied customers.

We visited the Orlando area in 2005 and used this transportation company. They were awesome. First of all our flight got delayed so we didn't arrive until quite late in the evening. we had already arranged to have the 1/2 hour stop at a grocery store but weren't sure if we would do so because we were traveling with small children and we were all tired due to the long hectic day. When we arrived at the airport, Sunray had sent two cars to pick us up so that part of the group (my husband, sister-in-law and the kids) could be taken to the hotel and my brother-in-law and myself could still go to the grocery store to pick up the items we needed before going to the hotel. They were very punctual and professional! WE are definitely using them when we return there next week!

i have used sunrays many times. excellent service, professional and friendly. we used them from just myself with a 3yr old gdaughter to a group of 10, with infant car seats.
i don't fly, but take the train. they keep up on the arrival times also as the train sometimes (more than likely all the times) can be late.
