Castmember Complaints

My mom and dad have just got back from wdw and were wondering how to make a complaint about a castmember. I know you go to guest services in the parks, but I didn't know the address to send complaints to once you have been home. If it makes any difference it was at Animal Kingdom. Thanks

This is the best contact address for them.
One thing to keep in mind (regardless of whether it is a complaint or compliment) is that it will take a few weeks sometimes before someone at WDW Corporate Offices will reply, but they really do listen to each comment.

My family has emailed compliments many times, and a complaint about a cast member once, and each time they did have someone personally call.

Without knowing any of the circs its difficult to get involved. However, I would venture that if you've waited until after you've got home then whatever happened can't br that bad. If you wanted to complain that badly, why not do it immediately after "it" happened, or even as you left AK ?

Also, you may want to make sure and compliment all the CMs that helped to make your trip go well while you are discussing the one CM that you had issues with.

My parents had the complaint about a castmember talking in front of glass in the gorilla exhibit in Pangani. They were giving the guests false information, which they verified most of it was incorrect from other castmembers working the exhibit previous visits and once they got home. This is one of my mom's favorite attraction in AK and it was ruined that day by this castmember, mostly because the majority of the people looked like they were believing them. My mom really wanted to report them at the time, but my dad had talked her out of it. Now they both really want to after researching it more once they were home.

Another question:
Are the castmembers allowed to talk the entire time on the microphone in front of the glass gorilla exhibit? Since they say it is a quiet zone I didn't think they were allowed to talk the whole time on the microphone.
Thanks:)

Usually at least once during our trips we try to leave a compliment about a cast member when we leave the park. This is our first complaint.

Wow, seriously?!

Was it like: "Our gorillas frequently like to wear jaunty hats and have tea parties. They're quite safe for humans to join! Jump on in!"

Or more like:"The average gorilla can leap 700 feet into the air. Gorillas reproduce asexually through a process known as "budding" and have an average lifespan of 3 weeks. Individual gorillas have the ability to combine their bodies into larger "super-gorillas", and frequently attack major cities."

I mean, just how bad are we talking here?

If you were to complain to someone in guest services about this, I don't think they could do much, but tell the CM to remember the correct info. Personally this does not sound like such a big deal, because when I 1st read the title I thought maybe the CM did something to this person or etc. Did you ever think about just going up to the CM yourself & telling them their info was wrong? Also & I am not trying to sound rude here but if you were to complain about this, I think the CM's might say to each other in private what a stupid thing to report a CM for.

Wow. I am really surprised by your responses. This was a polite post by someone who didn't rant and rave. Clearly it was difficult for them to decide to complain, as demonstrated by the story of why they waited until getting home. While I realize many folks wouldn't complain about this, I feel it is absolutely legitimate. By having an informative speaker at the exhibit, Disney is stating indirectly that they want to convey information to the public and go beyond entertainment. If they don't care about anything besides entertainment, then why have a cast member distributing any info? Just let the viewers walk by. I find it sad that accuracy is an afterthought to you folks. And we question the standards of our society? This is why our standards are so low. I'm totally fine with there not being any information disseminated. But, geez, is it really that unreasonable to ask that the information be accurate and that the cast member give a crap about their job enough to get it right? People get furious all over this board if a cast member uses the wrong tone of voice. I personally find this more disrespectful as clearly the public isn't worth their time to get the information right.

A trained CM in charge of guiding an animal exhibit should have accurate information. Even the voluteers at our local zoo are trained to know accurate information about the animal/exhibit they're assisting with.

If it was just one piece of incorrect information, perhaps that person was having an off day. But if the CM presented several pieces of misinformation during the talk, then I'd definitely say something. As long as no one was trying to play "stump the cast member", its a legitimate complaint. I'm sure WDW would want to know if a CM needs more training in or just isn't well suited to a particular area.

Which is why i asked, albeit humorously, just how wrong the CM got it.
It seems a little odd, most of the time these complaint threads are really specific and involve a "horror story" of some sort, sometimes strangely funny. The vagueness of the OP is a little frustrating. Come on now, give us some good dirt.

Wouldn't people complain about the Disney bus drivers ALL of the time then? Since the drives like to tell 'tall' tales!

But IMO, if you feel the need to complain, then complain, I agree that the CMs should be giving accurate infomation about exhibits at WDW. Now a CM over-elaborating about park rumors is a completely differnt issue
