Not counting on that, but who knows?

Did you work this weekend Dot?

I worked Saturday.
Yesterday, a friend was running a bus trip to Atlantic City. I hate Atlantic City, but George wanted to go and walk the boardwalk. So we went. It was a gorgeous day for a walk and we had a great dinner at a casino buffet. After dinner we walked some more and then returned to the casino with the idea of playing just the $10 each that we were given as part of the trip package. But we got back to the casino just in time for the beginning of the 4th quarter of the Eagles game, so George and I sat at one of the bars (Cokes only!) and watched the game. What fun!
So we came home with the $20 we never got the chance to play! I was really happy about that! I hate the casinos. Not my type of thing at all!

No word yet, and since today's a holiday, I won't hear today either. I called Friday and only got their voice amil.
I know that all the state testing is going on these 2 weeks, so they might be caught up with that. I'm getting pretty tired of living without a paycheck though....

Pfft. Today's not a holiday. (Not a REAL one, IMHO)

Hopefully something'll come through. Have you thought about backup plans yet?

It is so inconsiderate not to let you know at the interview just how long you would have to wait for an answer!

I'm not a gambler either. It's just a waste. But if you look at it as a form of entertainment, not just as a quick get rich scheme, it's not all that bad.

I'm with you - I hate casinos! Dave and I went to Foxwoods once with 2 rolls of quarters. 10 minutes later they were gone, and we went home. I said I could have stayed home and flushed them down the toiulet and saved the gas money! BIL and his wife go to AC 2 or 3 times a year, and are alsays asking us to go with them, but it's just not my thing at all!

Pfft. Today's not a holiday. (Not a REAL one, IMHO) Clearly you don't livein an Italian state!

My backup plan is to sub right now, but I'm still looking at a few other possibilities.

I hate writing about Columbus Day.. I could write scads of Veterans Day tv scripts... but somehow "Come buy furniture because some italian/spanish guy slaughtered naitives in a misguided attempt to find India" sounds disingeniuous. :brick:

There is, in my opinion anyway, a really sleazy element to AC.
Las Vegas may be more entertaining. Since I never plan on going there, I'll probably never really know.

We went to Vegas 3years ago on the first 2 nights of our West trip. I couldn't wait to get my family out of there. The only good thing about it was that we got to see (and meet) Penn and Teller!

Oh, but Foxwoods is gorgeous! I like going TO casinos... I just don't like gambling in them. Mohegan Sun is also beautiful on the inside.

I've heard a lot of great things about Vegas casinos, too.
Gorgeous, interesting and entertaining.
I don't find any of that in AC casinos, though.
The best I can say about them is their buffets are cheap and really very good.

Everyone kept telling us to go to Vegas when Marc won free airline tickets... uh.. no. I kept telling them I had no desire to visit. If I ever get there, it'll only be for the architecture, shopping and food... and maybe a ride on the roller coaster on top of that building. :lookaroun

Morning all  Seems like forever since I've been here, but I'm taking a little time off to try and get things organized for the holidays...I'm not doing so well. :( Seems I go one step forward then two back...I need to get rid of a lot of junk! Kids are home (have to take Katie back later) so I'll be busy for sure today. Hope everyone is doing well.
