Disney's Not-So Magical Express

Okay, I know that I am going to get my head handed to me for the title but I was very disappointed in the Disney's Magical Express Service. The ride from the airport is horrible. My bus driver must have gotten his license that morning from Goofy. He was unable to speak English so we had no clue what he was saying. :brick: We finally got to our resort and got checked in but ended up with issues and needed to change resorts. Disney Reservations screwed up and gave us a standard room with 2 double beds, and I told them Specifically that I was there on my honeymoon. :brick: but that is a story for another thread complaint. So today we flew home from WDW, and that is bad enough to have to deal with, but after contacting Disney's Magical Express and telling them we switched resorts, because I knew that I would need to have my voucher moved over to use the service, guess what, they never moved it over after telling me that it wouldn't take much. Finally the nice gentleman at the Airport Check-in desk helped me out and got me a voucher so I could head out to my flight. Which is a hassle because we had to stop a 3 other resorts to pick people up and we were down to less than 3 hours to get to the airport and check in since the check-in software was encountering an error. Then our Bus driver, who was just as bad as the first guy I had, took his sweet time doing everything knowing people had flights to get to and then told us that it was only going to take us 30 minutes to clear the TSA screeners. How about closer to an hour and 10 minutes, I timed it. :hammer: Luckily our flight was slightly delayed coming down to Orlando, so we gained about a half hour to grab a quick bite to eat. I will never again use the Disney Magical Express service. It is not worth it, I would rather deal with a rental car and paying for fuel and such, because then I can get to the airport when I am ready. We also had another DME bus following us from each resort all the way to Orlando International Airport, with no one on it. :hammer: My wife summed up the trip best by saying, "Its like a really great sandwich with wonderfull tasting meat and such, but horrible stale and moldy bread." Does anyone have a contact phone number for WDW Complaints, I really want to complain about the DME service as well as our first hotel, the staff at the second was wonderful and helped to turn around our honeymoon.

You don't have to use both of them. :animwink:

(It's like hotel shampoo. Use as much as you need.)

One bed versus two is a request - that no one at Disney will ever guarantee - unless you're paying for a more expensive suite.

Wether or not you're on your honeymoon does not override the policy regarding requests and how they are handled.

Also - you said standard view with two double beds.

How can that possibly be Disney Reservations fault? That had to be at a moderate resort. A king room or a water view room would have to be a seperate room category, and thus a higher price.

If you don't know what you purchased, despite the fact that they send detailed confirmations and everything - that's your fault.

Someone needs to explain to me why two double beds is a problem.

My wife and I always stay at deluxe resorts and always get two double beds and it's just the two of us and we love it.

We use the second bed to sort out our gifts after shopping.
We also use the 2nd bed to put out our clothes for the next day.
Sometime I nap on the 2nd bed and sleep in the other.

I can come up with lots of good reasons to have a second bed but I can't for the life of me come up with one reason not to have a second bed.

Am I missing something here?:veryconfu

Nope.

Disney messed up our honeymoone reservations as well, but we did not let it ruin our honeymoone.

My husband and I sleep on a king size bed at home, so when we went to Disney and had 2 doubles, it was quite a culture shock! We both move about in our sleep quite a bit. Finally, on our last night, after being whacked in the face one too many times by my sleeping husband, I just got up and slept in the other bed with our luggage.

It was the best nights sleep I got in Disney:snore:

DME is run by Mears i think and contracted out by WDW...
This is not exactly correct. DME is run by Disney. Mears is subcontracted to provide the drivers and buses. The old Mears bus system left a lot to be desired. But DME is NOT the old Mears bus system.

Think of it as Mears is the muscle but Disney is the brains. Mears operates ONLY under Disney's policies and procedures and directions.

I don't recall complaints about the old Mears drivers and the old Mears buses, just complaints about the way it was run and dispatched and the inefficiencies, etc.

Well, all of that no longer applies, because Mears does not make ANY decisions. Disney is the brains. It's Disney's show.

And by the way, there are other subcontractors, as well, such as for resort-bound luggage delivery, logistical planning and software, resort airline check-in, and MCO-bound luggage delivery. None of this is a secret, it's all on the Disney website.

I love DME. I used it on it's 4th day of operation, and I just used it again a few days ago. It was awesome both times.

On Saturdat November 4, it took me 56 minutes from the time I stepped off my plane until I was dropped off at POFQ. It really couldn't have been much quicker even if I had my Aunt Melba Sue pick me up at the airport, because if anyone else picked me up I would have had to wait at baggage claim.
