M.R.I. question

I just had an MRI done on my brain just to check if I had a tumor or anything. The results came out fine, but I'm kind of a hypocondriac and what I was wondering was- do MRI's detect internal bleeding and aneurysms?

What led them to do that?

I had one done years ago, also to check for tumors. I'd been suffering from days- long headaches, nausea, confusion, etc. The MRI came back fine. After some additional investigation it turned out I had lingering effects from a car accident years before.

Pains in my neck, back of my head (which they figured out are muscle spasms I'm having) and some panic attacks. They really didn't think I had a tumor (and I didnt), but they wanted to check just in case cause we had a 4 year old cousin that just died from brain cancer.

Based on your symptoms and that you say the MRI was read as normal, I wouldn't worry about it. Discuss it with your doctor tomorrow and don't lose any sleep over it tonight.

That was me, too (on top of everything else)

Have you ever been in an accident of any kind?

I just had an MRI done on my knee...it came back clear and they can't figure out what's wrong. They think it might be an imbalance of my muscle tissue and cells...so they want me to do therapy now. I, too, questioned if bleeding was looked for in case a vessel had popped. I think it searches for it, mine came back clear like yours, so no worries!

Thanks for all your advice and input everyone. I did a little research and MRI's can scan for aneurysms and stroke, etc. so I was relieved when I read that.
