Pop Century room question

I was wondering what size airbed would fit comfortably in a room at pop century. By comfortably I refer to not having to squeeze it in and also not having to deflate it every morning and inflate it every night (not a big deal to just stand it up against the wall though). Thanks in advance for all responses.

Hmmmmm, there's not a whole lot of extra room. I'd say even the smallest one is going to get in the way and have to be deflated (unless you're only going to be in the room to sleep).

There are probably some pictures of the rooms available if you search around or someone can post a link.

A twin would be about it -- and you could easily prop it against a wall or in front of the window during the day. Anything else would be a really tight squeeze. Pop rooms are rather small IMHO.

The room is strictly for sleeping. That is the reason we are not staying at a moderate or deluxe because I could no justify spending the extra money when it is only being used for sleeping. I figured the most room would be near the door. It would be nice if there was still enough room to get around the airbed and use the door though, but if not we can deal with it.

You shouldn't have a problem with an air mattress in a Pop room if you rent an additional room for your luggage. :p There's just not a lot of extra space in those crackerbox rooms.

There is not much extra space in a value room. Form an actual space standpoint you might be able to fit one in there but it would be a shoe horn fit.

I am not to sure why you are using a blow up mattress but if it to fit a 5th or 6th person into the room you could run into other problems. Mousekeeping is instructed to inform management if there is evidence that there are extra people in the room especially if they are over capacity. If this is the case you could find yourself paying rack rate for a second room.

Nothing like jumping to conclusions about reasons for having an air bed in addition to the existing beds. 4 adults are allowed in a room, and that is the situation here. The reason for having an additional place to sleep is that 2 of the people will not be able to share a double bed. We are not looking to cheat the system, so please don't feel the need to inform us of rules and consequences. As stated earlier, if we had intentions of spending any time in the room we would have stayed a moderate or deluxe, however those are not our intentions and we felt we could save the money on the room and spend it on food.

Wow. No need to be so defensive. The people posting here were just trying to be helpful. If you didn't want people jumping to conclusions maybe you should have communicated more clearly or more completely.

A quick note on Value Resorts.

We have stayed at both Pop and ASMU. On both occasions, we were upgraded to the "preferred" section of the hotels. In each case, we requested and were given a room with a King sized bed. However, both rooms had "handicap equipped" showers (we didn't request the special shower, nor were we told about them at the front desk). We didn't really find the special shower to be a bother, but I'm not sure if the special shower changes the "livable" dimensions of the room. In fact, I'm not shre if all king rooms have these type of showers.

I hope this bit of extra info helps out in your room planning.

Not jumping to conclusions by any means. While most hotels could care less how many people you shove in a room Disney resorts can be a little touchy on that subject. You did not state a "why" in your original post and I just wanted to save you from running into a problem.

The rooms are not THAT small at POP. I would say you could fit a twin air mattress in a room. If you would need a full sized air mattress, you could probably fit one in there, but space would be VERY limited then, but you could always throw your luggage on top of the air mattress during the day, and move it at night.

I appreciate the advice that is given on this site. However, it is a shame that one of the first things that some people think of is people trying to cheat the system or get something for free and then feeling the need to describe the consequences. Makes you wonder if that person is a cheater themselves in order to think of that first. I was simply trying to get advice, not be lectured on the consequences of breaking the rules. Thanks again, everyone for the help, I really appreciate it.

Now look who's jumping to conclusions.

Is it not possible that you were wanting to put more than four people in a room not because you would be trying to cheat the system but because you thought it was permissible? If so, informing you of Disney's policy re: extra people would be helpful, would it not? There's more than one way to look at it.

The sad thing is many times it is a correct assumption. I have a family of 5 and you will not believe the number of people outside of this site with the same family size will try and cheat the system by doing exactly what you described. I only mentioned it because most people are unaware that Disney takes this issue pretty seriously. Since you did not state what your intentions were I was trying cover all the bases with a single post and save you any hardship.

They were only tring to give you advise. Many people either don't realize the Disney policies, or think they can get around them by bringing in their own mattresses. No one was accusing you of that, simply trying to offer information.
PS Have a great vacation!

I have to agree that a twin sized mattress would be about all that could fit and you would need to put it in the area by the door. Just move the small table and chairs in front of the window as close to the door as possible without blocking it. You can then put the air mattress against the wall between the Tv stand/dresser and the wall that has the window on it. We have done it before but, at all- star movies. We didn't try to cheat the system, we had my 7 year old nephew with us and he could'nt share a bed with my son because sleeping in the same bed as my nephew is like being in an all night boxing match!

A twin would be about it. The rooms in value resorts are small and there isn't a whole lot of space in there to begin with. We bought one of the monorail sets and train sets for our son on the last trip and had a hard time setting it up on the floor, due to lack of space. I agree with the other posts, a full size won't fit.
