MK Big Thunder Mountain to receive full retrack

Tom Bricker is known to be very reliable.
He is indeed reliable and very knowledgeable about what up with the parks. And he doesn't trade in click baiting or trolling. And links to his sight isn't barred on this forum.

However, I'm not aware of him having inside information any more than any travel agent would.

Will MK have the best version after the refurbs or will they be equal?
If and when Space happens it might be superior seeing as how it has the better queue and a post-show and two tracks instead of one, but it depends on if it is a true rebuild with updated effects and on-board audio like the DL 2005 version accomplished and not just a patch-up job like in the MK versions 2009 refurbishment. Seeing as how the current DL version opened twenty years ago now. If done right a refurb of the Magic Kingdom version could top it but first we have to replace the rough fifty-year-old coaster track we still have now. As for BTM I don't know as I don't know the extent of what they are planning or if we are getting the dynamite scene added to DL and DLP in the last decade.

Kinda hoping we get our own scene tbh, something would be nice in general but since we're getting a new scene to the first lift hill, imo might as well make it a fully unique Big Thunder.

Who decides what takes longer than it should? What determines that?
First, I was responding to a poster complaining about other people being upset at how long refurbs take, and that we shouldn't be upset that they let the coaster get so run down because it's getting fixed. My point is that people can be happy they are finally fixing the thing but upset that it's taking so long or that it got that rough in the first place.

But if we want to get into this specific coaster, why don't we compare to the retrack in Disneyland ten years ago that seemed to be a more significant upgrade, with additional effects, and took less time. It seems like it's going to have taken as long to retrack this as it did to build the ride in the first place.

Wonder if single rider will ever be added to BTM or are the seats a little too cozy?
The way one is thrown laterally... you'd be thrown into the person sharing your bench seating, and they into you. This is unlike Cosmic Rewind in which you get your own bucket seat, and so, they put strangers in the same car.

So, single riders sharing with a stranger on BTM isn't likely, I venture.

Do you think we'll get a ride photo? 🤔
A few years ago me and my family road and decided to play dead for the photo. However, we couldn't remember where the camera was so we just played dead for nearly the entire ride, cranking our necks as we were flown about - until we realized there was no photo to be had and cracked up for a good long while.

One of my favorite times, but I do hope they add a camera.

Agreed, hope they never do that, it’s only appropriate on rides with seats that are truly separated. I’m all for using a ride’s capacity but no one wants to wait an hour in line just to rub shoulders (and perhaps worse) with a stranger who waited less than ten minutes.

They do it on Rat which I find a bit weird. Granted it’s a popular attraction but it’s a bit tight adding a third adult to each row.

Is there indications that the ride will be much smoother than what we had in the past? Asking as I had cervical disc replacement surgery in November and my restrictions are about to be lifted. Just want to be careful.
