DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

Any chance Aerosmith appears for the last ride?

Sad to see this one go, it should've added more rock acts, the muppet theme is lame and kidifies the ride for no reason.

Crazy to see this and dinosaur go the same month, RIP 90s Disney World.

Im sad to see this one go even though I never got to ride it since it went down in the morning on my last visit to DHS and never came back up. Although the soundtrack makes up over half of my workout/running Playlist so it lives on a little easier than Dinosaur or Muppets

Muppets are always family friendly.

I would not say all Marvel movies are.

I don’t have an attachment to Aerosmith at all - I’ll ride the muppets version at least once but it doesn’t really replace muppet vision so it is was it is.

Dr. teeth will have fun hosting this though and it paved the way for a new muppet land hopefully.

I thought some band members already showed up before today for final good byes, but don't remember where I heard that.
Not for us peasants - he appeared the day after it closed to the public.

And Chester and Hester appeared after closing, too.

If anything special happens it'll be for cast.

Looks like the Muppets showed up early to take over. Or maybe that’s just our family in our Kermit, Fozzie, and Piggy outfits from this morning’s race.

I’m all for doing nice things for the cast - but I wish they would throw the fans something.

Like Tom put together the nice “farewell tour” stuff like he did for Muppets - why doesn’t D23 do stuff like that?

I mean wouldn’t it be cool to have some streetmosphere around on the last day “recoding artists” or DJ’s etc?

In lieu of stories involving actually getting on this horrifying thing, I want to share a story I have from working in the gift shop.

A mom and her preteen looking daughter come up to me from the direction of the unload area.

Kid looks mad, mom looks exasperated.

"Will you please tell her the ride didn't go upside down?"

"Uh... actually this is the only ride in Disney World that does go upside down."

"Oh."

Mom turns to daughter.

"Sorry."

With Rock 'n' Roller Coaster now closed, Disney has updated the notice on the website:

Are you ready. To. ROCK?!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets comes speeding into Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2026, fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets
.

There was a very adult joke in Muppets Tonight back in the 90s that went over my head as a little kid and did not understand until I was a teenager.
That’s common in many “family friendly” movies and tv shows.

There’s a huge difference in the family friendly adult jokes in muppets and Pixar and things like Family Guy, Deadpool, etc.

I'm sure there were many such conversations over the years 😂
