You have to hand it to the Italians during the hockey game vs Sweden.

They should really go back before the NHL players.
The Italian goalie is keeping them in this game, he’s looked really good, if he can keep this up a couple games the Ducks will probably call him up, either for themselves or to trade him for prospects.

Although not NHL players most are still professional players though, just in European leagues.

I just read an article this AM about the French judges being looked into for cheating on the mixed doubles ice skating program of 2 days ago. Apparently they put their team first and Chock and Bates way down in points. If it is true, I hope it gets straightened up soon. I hate when we hear of cheating in the Olympics. Those athletes work hard every day to be their best for the Olympics. I can't imagine what they go through just to be ready for competition.

This kind of thing has been going on forever in figure skating.

I assumed it was better now than when they held up a number but maybe not.

I haven't been aware of cheating in ice skating lately. I know there was a lot of it several years ago - very blatant! It must be awful for the skaters to hear this. They practice every day over and over again. It must grueling to do every day, and then to have some cheating judge mess it up for another team.

Some of the roster decisions are questionable but I’m still 100% team USA, I think they made changes based off the 4 nations loss that were unnecessary, we had a great team that beat Canada in round robin play and took them to OT in the championship game, I’d have ran it back.

I like the Tkachuks but both are coming off recent injuries, I’m worried that may come back to bite us.

I’m a Knights fan and half our team seems to be on Team Canada (4 players plus our coach) but that’s such a huge rivalry I could never cheer for them over the US. If the US doesn’t make the Gold medal match I’ll cheer for them over everyone else though.
Me, Myself and I are simple and down to earth when rooting for a team. USA, USA, USA.

This is one of the major reasons I don’t like most “judged” sports, too much opportunity for abuse.

With refereed sports we still get controversy but at least there’s replays and challenges to attempt to resolve it. With a lot of sports the judges solely determine who wins or loses, and that sucks.

Team Canada looked good this morning, Marner Stone goal was particularly exciting for this Knights fan, but the real “show” is about to begin, let’s go USA!

Jake Oettinger third choice goalie today. I hate them even more now.

I'd guess you see a lot of switching. In this tournament, the 3 best goalies probably all play for the US (which is why Russia would be interesting). Gotta say the more I watch Elvis play, the more I think all the complaints on Michkov should really be directed at him. I've never seen a goalie that just bails cause he is tired as much as Elvis does. That 5 OT game CBJ had years back, Elvis probably just lays down in the crease to start the 2nd.

Wild to think like 20 years ago, the US was pretty awful with goalies, and Canada was the tops. Quebec stopped producing goalies and nowhere else was able to provide even decent options.

Just saw today’s roster and thought “Andrew’s not gonna be happy”.

Eichel being Eichel 🎉

1 goal and 3 assists (so far) in 2 games, making this Knights fan proud.

Edited to add: Hanifin getting in on the fun also. Love seeing my Knights making an impact.
