Maaaybe? At least two of those three are massive E-tickets that would be built with the intention of drawing even more traffic to the park. What you actually need are a few more rides that match or are just a bit below Na'vi in terms of scope and appeal (though hopefully with higher capacity) so that you balance demand with suitably variable wait times. A 60- or 80-minute wait for an E-ticket is way less offensive if you can also blast through a bunch of other things in less than 20 minutes apiece. I honestly find it kind of odd that they've never added a Discovery Island flat ride or a genuine daytime river parade (no, I'm not counting the weird COVID boat cavalcade things). Where Encanto genuinely helps is with having more things to do indoors, but it may actually worsen crowds and wait times.Encanto, a Lion King flume, and a 3rd Pandora ride would fix the Navi issues of wait times and expectations
I agree that DAK needs more smaller rides as well, but my point is DAK has no E ticket dark rides for the whole family, so Navi has to carry that weight even though it wasn't designed to do soMaaaybe? I’ve had this cool idea for years where you could take the ride system for 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (the Tokyo version) and reskin it with avatar’s flora and fauna. The ride vehicles are small seating up to four per vehicle. But think it would still be a cool experience if the right people were behind it.Encanto, a Lion King flume, and a 3rd Pandora ride would fix the Navi issues of wait times and expectations
Conceptually, it'd be fine there, but I also think it makes sense to not "waste" the carousel ride type on Discovery Island because it's the flat ride that you can easily sell as the most low-tech and mundane, allowing it to still fit well visually into the villages. Meanwhile, Discovery Island could actually probably handle something that looked a bit more modern and exotic. Honestly, having some flat on DI with three sets of vehicles where one set was themed to real animals, another to ancient animals, and another to imagined animals would be a good way to continue to reference all of those things even as the lands themselves change.Does anyone else think the carousel would fit better in Discovery Island?
Id also like to add on a jungle book ride and also ripping out Kali to use the massive expansion plot in the back for a new land and/or even a hotelMaaaybe? Similarly, I read somewhere that one of DAK’s scrapped attractions was a triple decker carousel themed to different animal types. The lower deck would be based on aquatic animals, the middle deck would be based on land animals and have more traditional carousel horses, and the top deck would be an aerial carousel à la Dumbo based on birds.Honestly, having some flat on DI with three sets of vehicles where one set was themed to real animals, another to ancient animals, and another to imagined animals would be a good way to continue to reference all of those things even as the lands themselves change.
I think they should do a Tokyo Winnie the Pooh type ride for Jungle Book but maybe a little simpler. Keep it a simple typically Disney dark ride just done very well with more modern effects. Not crazy expensive and not a huge people attractor but good on capacity.Maaaybe? This article made me realize something, technically speaking on ride in AK there is currently only 1 fully functional animatronic seen in a ride in the whole park. ( I could be mistaken but just from what I remember) And that would be the Shaman. Of course thats going to change and I believe there is going to be more animatronics than before in total in this park after everything is done. But no Yeti, Zootopia has 2 but its only a show, and Dinosaur closed. FOP's animatronic is seen only in queue and not on ride. You can find art for it here.
Ive been wanting this so bad. Plus I think it would be cool if they added mini vignettes of different films, kinda like a scaled up version of the Storybook canal boats at DLThey should bring back the Discovery River Boats if they want a low ticket ride. Would be perfect, just need to bring some scenery around the river back.
Yeah, actually. Why not? People would ride it for the simple reason that there's very little left to do.They should bring back the Discovery River Boats if they want a low ticket ride. Would be perfect, just need to bring some scenery around the river back.
