DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I do worry that while Dinosaur, love it or hate it, was a very practical effects filled ride, it's possible Indy is a much more screens based experience, especially if the theme is “water” in an attraction where you can't practically have it inside the show building.
That's a very reasonable concern considering WDI's current approach to AA use. It might even be a large part of why Dinosaur is being killed.

So now having REAL ANIMALS isn't enough of a draw for parkgoers.

What, would the National Zoo be more popular if it had Moana and Zootopia rides in it?
I don't think it's really fair to compare DAK to a traditional zoo. The draw for a traditional zoo is always going to be animals. That draw to a theme park that happens to feature animals, even prominently, is going to be theme park attractions. Animals have never been enough of a primary draw to DAK for the majority of guests to suit Disney's attendance expectations. That was part of the reason they built Everest.

That is not a new line of thinking where DAK is concerned. The original promotional campaign for the park all the way back when it opened was basically Disney saying as loudly and as often as they could that "THIS IS NOT A ZOO IT IS A THEME PARK!"

No animals in the land is a misstep. Otherwise this is a huge step forward. My one main concern is that I've always felt Dinosaur suffered by being tucked away in the corner. I wonder how much attendance slipped by guests simply not encountering the ride. Indy needs to be visible from the fountain area. A big red temple should be an adequate wenie, but from the plans, I'm not sure it will be visible until one rounds the corner from the restaurant.

Yeah that's my main criticism with Traopical Americas so far, the land would really benefit with having an animal exhibit somewhere, but idk if that's even going to happen seeing as the space doesn't really have the space to put an animal exhibit there. Maybe around the new playground or the area by the exit for the Encanto attraction could work for something, but I don't think there will be any animal exhibits at TA. Hope I'm wrong tho

Also coming from the website that we do not speak of here, the backdrop for the Adventurers Outpost meet-and-greet now removes Dinoland USA and replaces it with the Tropical Americas and Casita

I'm thankful that we're at least getting a real geographical area that fits in with the original Africa and Asia.
You mean vs. zootopia?
The worst thing about Dinosaur was the cheesy storyline and narrator. It really made the ride… annoying.
That was the best part of the ride! It was the definition of a Disney attraction to me.

First preshow of the day already has people yelling all the lines.

The ride line is out to the road, which isn't as bad as it sounds because the extended queue isn't open (for some insane reason) but it's still a sight to see.

Ride looks okay. You can tell some things aren't operating like they should (alioramus doesn't move all the way up, final carno isn't opening his mouth) but it's not embarrassing.
