DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

watching that video there seems to be a decent amount of open spaces just in different spots, if they're taking things down to the walls there's a good canvas to start with

We skipped our last chance to do Dinosaur today. Went up the entrance and just turned away. We decided to get our party on Tron (for a first timer in our party) and spend a couple of hours at MK before the CM party. If time wasn’t as limited, maybe we would have found a way - but it just shows the value I put on this thing. I did a down and back specifically for MV3D.

I was able to have a send off last year for Dinosaur in 2024 and I’m at peace with it.

I am sure there is nostalgia with this (and it’s original) but I think this ride is so inferior compared to its cousin out West, which in my book is such an amazing experience.

I only hope that IJA-vDAK lives up to that experience.

That isn't too surprising. Dinosaurs are not exactly a politically problematic subject

What does that have to do with awful maintenance that was going on for years?

It's okay to have people still go past the "politically problematic subject" with the story still easily heard and understandable but only if the animatronics are broken?

How does the awful state of Tiana's fit into this?

if you are visiting for your last ride - be sure to take some time in the restaurant - some insanely cool stuff.

Original art from Fantasia and of course the Joe Rohde mural.

Security has apparently been posted to wander - I’m guessing some are trying to take decor? Kinda was staring me down even though I was just taking photos - a little odd for Disney but whatever. Haha.

Restaurantosaurus is genuinely one of the best themed restaurants on property. It’s amazing work from imagineers you don’t see much of anymore.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend with the ride, but losing Resto, and what it has always stood for to me, still hurts. As others have said, the all gas no breaks levels of storytelling and gags/details they came up with and were able to do still sticks with me.

It's spaces like that, where they went head first within the world building and story they are telling, it meant something. Even with 99% of people in there not caring at all. Endless gags, props, more art than a majority of what's currently around, all in a pre-smart phone era. Discovery, curiosity, heart. Love of the craft.

Rambling, but it's just another substantial piece of original storytelling and detail that is going away for movies references. It makes me sad. Yes, it's just a burger and hot dog spot in a park, but that says it all. Man it's just yet another important piece in an incredible era that'll be gone for good.

The 1% is the “Disney difference”

I’m sure we will get some photos of Indiana Jones meeting Bruno in the new restaurant. (Jk I hope!)

Not-Fun-Infact-Just-Soul-Crushing Fact: the forced, unfunny movie references already started and they infiltrated Restaurant O'saurus.

Note the absurd concept that PALEONTOLOGY students need the difference between paleontology and archeology explained to them, because making the reference as subtle as a jackhammer is more important than sense.

I don't know, the fact that they're continuing the humorous-style of decor even days before the closing is actually kind of great, in my opinion. I don't like that any of this is happening, but this is funny.
