Waiting to see the menus, so I can win a bet with myself that, at this point, the people who create the dishes just throw 24 different ingredients into ChatGPT... err... OpenAI... and tell it to pick 4-6 things to put together at a time.
Always thought this festival was good. They used to have more wine but I guess they don’t make as much margin as they do with the mixed drinks. Hope they do something fun this fall for the F&W festival. 50th year anv of the Paris wine tasting

Wine consumption has dropped quite a bit

More and more alcohol is being linked to heart disease and dementia. AHA came really close to recommending sobriety for anyone with heart disease (it instead recommended that if you wish to drink you limit yourself to 1 serving if you are a women and 1-2 for men.) Gone are the days where daily alcohol intake (ie glass of wine) is recommended.

It’s also an amazing cost reduction hack.

Dr. HP says - "A bourbon a day is good. Two is even better. Make sure it's good stuff."

A lot of these selections seem a fair bit more pricey than those featured in other recent festivals. That’s… questionable.
The original Food & Wine was great because it was a small price for a small plate - you could try lots of food for a reasonable amount of money.

I do think the portions have gotten bigger with the larger prices, at least to an extent, but that changes the concept of having so many booths with different items to try.

We were at the first Food and Wine. My parents loved it, walking around a fairly empty World showcase in the early fall evenings and chatting at leisure with the knowledgeable CMs about the food and best wine pairings.

There was a sommelier in Italy!

Back on topic- I’ll be at the F of Arts this year (trade show in Orlando) and at least the festival booths will have tastier food than those terrible Orlando convention center salads!
