I still don’t understand why excitement is contingent on allowing for inaccuracy. There’s plenty to be excited about without it.
This is a topic about construction progress, so I personally expect accurate information about the pace of the process. It’s not the same as playfully talking about the shape of something, though if there were a topic here seriously asking about the construction of Spaceship Earth, I’d expect a real answer and any sort of joke to be obviously framed as such.
Because nothing here is that serious, and expecting people whose lives don’t revolve around or regularly involve the knowledge or terminology to care enough to involve it in a casual conversation like this is ridiculous. It’s usually pretty obvious when someone is just excited and making a relative observation in layman’s terms versus suggesting some incorrect information that should be corrected.
