We had our annual Christmas Eve celebration at Mom and Pops home this/yesterday evening/night…got there at 5p and didn’t get home ‘til about 10:30p…!!!
All 26 of us were there, so we took the opportunity to take a family photo from the fireplace mantel with a timed iPhone…!!!!!!!
We gathered, we snacked, we caught up on life with each other, we prayed together before the main meal, had dessert, then our white elephant gift exchange, had more dessert, etc….!!!!!
The family pic is below, and I’ll post more pics of the food and fun sometime tomorrow/today…!!!!!

No worries about the mush. I'm in the same boat with ya, as you know, with my dad about to turn 94 on Jan 6. He, too, was climbing ladders to clear second-story gutters just a few years ago.

It is hard for sure.

My apologies, as somehow I seem to have missed your reply post. Thank you for taking the time…!!!

They were both more chipper and moving about this evening than I’ve seen them in a while, but a lot of that was probably due to the season and the fact that their home was completely filled with loving family…!!!
As we all know though, time marches on.

OK, Backtracking to this past Sunday, we (Carolyn, Matthew, Sarah and myself) had Christmas with both BILs, youngest BILs wife and baby son, our niece, and Megan, Daniel, Emmy and Audrey, at our home…!!!
We caught up, munched on simple fare of homemade chili, cornbread and salad (there were a few desserts, but I have no pics ), did gifts for Henry (the new baby - and yes, that’s our SIL, Daniel, holding him) and did a white elephant gift exchange, as per late MILs tradition…!!!

Before we went to Mom and Pops yesterday evening, we went to Megan, Daniel, Emmy and Audrey’s home, earlier in the afternoon, to celebrate Christmas with them. We exchanged gifts (I ended up with the Bob Thomas book about Walt - which, oddly enough, I’ve never read before - a charcoal and colored pencil sketch kit, a cool shirt and a new suitcase for our European trip this summer) and had some treats…!!!

All I snacked on (because I wanted to save room for the upcoming feast at Mom and Pops) was one of Megan’s vegan gingerbread muffins with orange cream icing, and it was really delicious…!!!!!



These silhouettes of Emmy and Audrey were done at a kiosk on East Center/Market St. (just off MSUSA) on our October of ‘23 family trip, and are surprisingly accurate for how they looked at the time…!!!!!

So, now, finally back to our Christmas celebration at Mom and Pops last night…!!!
