The 2nd day was with the children walking in to learn at the usual time. 8:30am....but instead of putting them on the buses at 3pm, we put them on the buses at 1pm. The NJ Dept. of Ed. counts this day as a day in school...so it is equal in value to a full day.
Does that make sense now?
We get out sooner in June and on the Dec. 23rd 1pm dismissal day we can get ready for Christmas travel 2 hours sooner.

I guess I forget people still count days. Wisconsin switched to hours years ago.

I'm officially on winter break. These past couple days were fun, but exhausting. However, it won't be a very relaxing break for me, but for good reason.

I'll have Christmas with my immediate family the next two days, and then at some point next weekend/early next week we'll have a new addition to my family, as I'll become an uncle for the first time. So I'll go meet her at some point.

Then I have a couple get-togethers planned. One with my team, and then my friend from Florida is back in town, so a few of us are getting together for New Years Eve. Come the 1st, it'll slow down for me.

Some pics below of our yard decorations, for which we won one of 3 HOA $50 H•E•B gift cards, for best “classically” decorated yard…!!! :)
We weren’t trying to win anything, so it was a nice surprise…!!! :geek:
Also, Audrey loves the Grinch, because his heart “…grew three sizes that day”, so we had to put him on our front gate…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

We went up to my brother's house for our family Christmas today. Normally they come down here, but since they're close to having the baby, they wanted to stay close to home. We had lunch, opened gifts, and now we're back home.

Tomorrow we won't do a whole lot.
