"Big Thunder Mountain closed unexpectedly today due to an incident with the track. It’s unclear what the issue is."

I know they briefly talk about Disney-MGM Studios Europe in the grand opening TV special, but didn't catch this before; Does the box with the cement in it have the park's name? Where did the celebrity handprints go? 😅

Seems it wasn’t unexpectedly- they got a lot of flack for that. It was scheduled and times were published.
Yes, I was there and puzzled to see it was scheduled for an early close. Thankfully, I managed to ride on Friday as my attempt on Saturday ended up being frustrated as it broke down toward the end of the night. Space Mountain, which had just re-opened from a refurb, also had a difficult Saturday, going down in the morning and only opening up again in the evening. That was not ideal, as I think Saturday was the busiest I have ever seen the park, with the wait for Pirates even going up to 50 minutes at one point.

Might as well give some general impressions of the resort here as I don't think it's worthy of a full trip report.

My overriding impression after this last trip was a very positive sense of how the resort has really come into its own. The place was busy, working really efficiently, felt like a European twist on Disney, and just a nice place to be. I have been pretty negative about the refurbishment of Disney Village, but the new sections honestly looked quite nice and were very busy. We had breakfast one day at Rosalie and our feeling was that it was a really nice addition to the resort. The refurbished sports bar also always seemed busy. A stay in the pre-refurbishment Sequoia Lodge was nice, as always.

We also did La Forêt Secrète which was a nice experience, but I honestly don't know if I would recommend the experience for anyone who was at all concerned about cost. I certainly don't regret it, but with the cheaper menu, a glass of champagne, and a bottle of wine it was around 400 Euro for two people. While no dress code is enforced, it is a very formal restaurant, so keep in mind whether you find that comfortable. They do play the music for the fireworks and dim the lights, which is nice.

It is Christmas time, so it is perhaps no surprise that the resort was very busy. We were there from Thursday to Saturday and the Saturday was packed. That said, the park handled it well and you mostly noticed the crowds in the wait times more than in crowded walkways. Even on the less crowded days, my impression was that they were running the attractions at full capacity which kept wait times manageable. In that respect, I honestly felt that management felt more focussed on guest experience and less penny pinching than in the US.

Very happy that they seem to be sticking to the spirit of Annette's and still cautiously optimistic about the Sequoia refurb. Having just stayed there last week, it is still my favourite DLRP hotel (honestly, the scale and atmosphere of it may place it among my favourite Disney resorts anywhere) but it also does feel like the guest rooms and corridors are due for a refurbishment.

The enhancements to the Rivers of America are also welcome additions. Having also taken a trip on the Molly Brown last week I was impressed with how quiet and serene the experience was, though it is notable that there is less around the river than at Disneyland in California. I do think that that they need to figure out how to keep that geyser area looking good and working or just replace it at this point.

And it was still going on into the evening. They really need to get a grip on this, especially since historically the companies don’t get on.
I have no deep knowledge on this issue but online I read via French translation that the ONET contract was up for renewal or ending. So it is possible they will be moving to a new contractor.

Does anyone know how the work is progressing at Davy Crockett on replacing the bungalows and when it's likely to be finished, as it doesn't look like this was mentioned?
