News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

This is looking so very Hilton. I really hope when it's done it doesn't, but no matter what this in no way blends with the rustic, secluded feel of the area. A beautiful pool and lazy river area would at least soften the blow. A lot of the recently built pools have been nothing special IMO.
As someone who might visit this hotel but certainly won’t be staying there I just don’t care about the pool. I do care about the theming, which looks to be nonexistent.

Lucky for you, there will be a lazy river. Not sure if the pool will be "beautiful", though. :) Plus there's also the interactive water play area, which as planned looks pretty nice.

I just Googled.

I am guessing (hope to be wrong) it will be a very vaguely rustic themed Hilton, just like the Poly tower is a vaguely tropical themed Hilton (IMO). It looks nice, yes. But it's not Disney or unique or interesting enough. I hate this era of design at Disney. It is happening everywhere in all design, but Disney should be an exception.

As long as they slap a Pocahontas sticker or statue somewhere I guess it's considered good enough

The TS restaurant will apparently have an "IP wall" on the outside, if that helps. ;)

That's the concern I have. This feels much more akin to Disneyland Paris' hotels with even less theme. I have to wonder if, in 20 years, this will look very dated. These are certainly not timeless designs, let alone iconic architecture. I guess it brings it in line with many other timeshares in the area. But, other than the IP and location, there is becoming less and less difference between DVC, Marriot Vacations, Hilton Vacations, etc. it seems.

I believe you mean a magical, sustainable, character activation architecture experience designed to add value and promote connection and family memories for years to come, combining some of the most beloved Disney stories in the spirit of the original River Country that guests loved.

Did I miss any buzzword triggers?

I would say it seems that yes, that is the last remaining watering hole from River Country

Thank you! This is what I was hoping someone could provide for me! @HauntedPirate is it safe to assume that this is going to stay according to the construction plans? As someone obsessed with remnants of old attractions, I really hope so.

Today’s Disney company does nothing with concern about 20 years in the future.

Today’s Disney company’s only concern is next quarter.

Yes. It can be difficult to book DVC rooms. Not sure about currently as I haven't checked, but before the current situation, pretty much everything DVC would get booked out completely except Saratoga Springs.

You missed the “more Disney” phrase. Otherwise 👏👏👏

Just looking at the breakdown again.

DVC room breakdown (399 total):

Pod: 24
Studio dedicated: 95
Studio lockoff: 91
1BR : 91
1BR dedicated: 51
2BR: 38
Grand Villa: 9

That’s not a lot of dedicated 2-beds. But maybe it’s in line with other resorts?

The number of dedicated 2-BR's is lower than at other WDW DVC resorts. For comparison's sake, the number of dedicated 2-BR's at:

BRV - 44
CCV - 56
VGF - 47

Is there an activation in there somewhere?
