DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I can not wait for the day they announce the removal of Kali River Rapids for a massive expansion in the back of AK and people start the #saveriverrapids and talk about how River Rapids is the best ride of all time.
I'd be okay with them removing Kali River Rapids... if they replaced it with something that has to do with animals, unlike what they're doing with Dinoland. If it were replaced by a Moana land or a Wish land or something, I'd raise a fuss.

I would prefer they just add more show scenes to Kali....or lengthen the attraction...or even do both and theme it to Jungle Book...the setting is about right for it....
They should have built a South Pacific area sponsored by Moana with a big E ticket ride and the coconut creature spinner and then some animal exhibits where Chester and Hester was as opposed to this Encanto thing... Maybe someday they will build an expansion to include Moana... at least her character fits the feel of the park......where Encanto really has absolutely nothing to do with the overall idiom of DAK....

A clone of the Lion King flume from Paris would do wonders for nighttime rides/vibes in Africa. Not quite sure where they would shoehorn it in, though.

Having a look, the only likely place would be along the walkway between festival LK show down towards Pandora

Paris I believe will be a 120sq ft building, so this could fit (realign some roads etc). Whether it would happen though is another thing, but it would sure be a fantastic addition and help add something to that walkway

This placement is nice because it keeps the village untouched, and all IP are on the outskirts of the land.

As much as I love AK, I have it ranked 6th/dead-last in my domestic park rankings. Can’t compete without a nighttime show and daily closings mostly at 6 pm.
It’s definitely better than current DHS and DCA for me. That’s probably where it lands. Epcot and the castles above it of course.

Or at least restore show scenes and effects. :-/

I’m a big “feels” guy and generally get most of those reactions when I'm watching a nighttime show or a form of entertainment.

I personally think DHS is massively underrated in this community. It's a flawed park but I'd rather spend a whole day there than the rest of the Florida parks, except for Epcot. Great combination of E-Tickets and the most shows. Plus F!

DCA has World of Color which gets back to the "feels".

ToL Awakenings is the closest thing AK offers and it's a seasonal offering. It's better than nothing, but it's not even better than the secondary shows at the other parks (Epcot Beacons, JBJB!, WWoA, DMM, etc.).

The night time shows are my favorite part of Disney - I’m with you. But I can’t judge an entire park on the night time show alone. And if I did, Florida’s fanstasmic isn’t enough for me. Now when they did the Star Wars fireworks!? Omg! But of course that was when we had citizens of Hollywood, etc. as well.

World of Color is the best thing DCA has going along with cars land. It is a lovely show. I’m sad they aren’t doing holidays this year.

I actually really like tree of life awakenings - it’s the best use of projection mapping I’ve seen. I’d rate it at least equal, if not better than beacons.

I remember when @PREMiERdrum had said this (or something similar) was being discussed, but nothing has been mentioned about this for a long time!
According to @PREMiERdrum, a clone (edit: see next post for clarification) of the Lion King flume ride rumored for "Disney Adventure World" (yikes, I don't even like typing that) could be headed to Animal Kingdom. Thought this deserved its own thread to keep the Tropical Americas thread separate.
I should interject. This might not be a clone of the Paris project, rather a plan previously designed specifically for AK. I imagine we will see shared efforts in character manufacturing, but there's a good chance this is a smaller-scale, traditional flume.

I would be okay with losing Kali in the unlikely case someone agrees with my idea of building a similar ride In EPCOT's Canada Pavilion.

I was on the train of the Lion King ride coming to DAK too at first, but the more I think about it the more it would kind of have to be a different attraction with the same IP. I don't see it as very likely that they have two different log rides at the resort. Even themed to different IPs, the Paris seems to just be Splash but Lion King. WDW already has Splash but make it Tiana.

A lot of this depends on if the turbocharging of the parks and the money allocated to Parks and Experiences holds true. If what we have been some thus far is the first 5 years of a ten year plan to invest heavily in the parks, then I would expect another round of additions to occur, starting with Epcot to get things ready for its 50th anniversary. After that though, I would think that DAK would be up again. And yes, a big dark ride in Harambe is so warranted to legitimizing this park as a full day experience. However, I still wouldn’t expect to hear anything until D23 2028. There is just too much going on right now over the next 5 years (some of which hasn’t even started) to start announcing anything or, I would think, to even hear about in the rumor mill. I still say that Harambe, Anandapur and Pandora should each get another big indoor ride.

Agreed. The park needs a lot more fleshing out and more C ticket type attractions added to make it feel like a full day park for everyone and also spread out crowds. Ultimately Tropical Americas is mostly a lateral move that isn't really changing the park's roster in a meaningful way. (Dinosaur to Indy, Triceratops Spin to Carousel, Primeval Whirl and Carnival Games and Boneyard to Encanto).

Talk about ridiculous! Everyone knows what the true “best ride of all time” is - Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
