I don't think so. I can tell you that watching them kill EPCOT piece by piece has caused me quite a bit of emotional distress and made my outlook on life far far darker.

Indeed! I wish I could go back and tell my 9 year old self that going to WDW would bring you great joy for approximately 10 years and then slowly break your heart over the next 10 and ultimately drive you to the point where you end up despising your former favorite place with every bone in your body and ultimately questioning your life itself.

I appreciate the concern. I am fine right now but it can be a struggle some days and it's not just because of Disney. As a matter of fact, I actually prefer complaining about Disney over what I spend most of my time doing.
You might want to take a break. I'm passionate about Disney, and quite disgruntled about the current state of things. But if it ever makes you question your life, I think it's a sign you need to take a break. Just my two cents.

I'd argue the sharpest sting of "growing up" is realizing things aren't going to stay as they were forever.
Of course the most profound way is people passing away.
However, in a sense (not the biggest sense of course so please put your pitchforks away everybody), it's "worse" when Disney closes something you'd think they'd never close ... because the logic is: "you can't help the reality that people pass away, but you CAN keep this open in perpetuity!"
That being said, TSI/ROA closure is but a recent reminder that's it's not quite something you completely get used to.

This IS my hobby. And it's a major reason why I've never been happier.
NB: Most of my adult life I HATED the word "happy." I thought it was something I could never have.
In part, these forums have re-ignited long-forgotten memories of how blessed I was as a child...filling me with a deeper gratitude, a deeper appreciation, a deeper awareness...and...consequently in-part...a deeper happiness.
Plus, in many different ways...on many levels...these forums help me by my best in the present (so I'm not just living in the past)

id just argue that disagreeing with a direction is way different then hatred. you can disagree with a choice but 1. realize its already been chosen and likely has at least some good reasons behind it. and 2. its not the end of the world and that this should be a fun and nice exchange of ideas
Continually celebrating mediocrity isn't a good hobby, either.

All but a handful of posters still find some amount of joy and excitement in WDW. Why try so hard to make them feel bad about it?
