Its official. AK is going the route of generic transitioning like HS and Epcot.

As long as they are animals in some form in any sense, they'll go to animal kingdom.

...or if the character's hat and jacket are made of leather. Same thing.
???

It's my understanding that this is essentially a segue to bring in some Aussie animals with a fun "mascot" who loves animals in this case?

It's not as simple as they are dog so animal kingdom, only if you look at the post in the most surface level possible and didn't actually read anything about it.

This is strategic. People already complained about the lack of rides before Dinoland started its phased closings. This move gives families a big reason to come to this park. As is the disappointing Zootopia attraction. Apparently, Zootopia 2 is WAY more popular than I thought it was, so I am certain that Bob is breaking both arms patting himself on the back over his synergistic IP-palooza bonanza strategy for the parks (apologies for this overly sarcastic rant).

However…this will help this park during a period of time with less options. It is an easy win. Also, as part of this strategy, I don’t think they could have found a more remote part of any of their Florida parks to put this in. For most people that will despise this move, as long as you don’t include a trip to Conservation Station, you’ll never know that Bluey and Bingo are even there. I mean, if they truly didn’t care, they could have had them appear in Anandapur or the stage in Harambe, or the stage on Discovery Island - but they didn’t. That would have even been hard for me to take, and I am not as much of a zealot as some folks tend to be about such theming matters. My hope in the long run is that this IP eventually lands in DHS.

I think this statement needs at least a bit of an asterisk. Zootopia 2 is doing very well, but (like the first Zootopia), a HUGE portion of the success is due to international audiences (not domestic audiences). For comparison, here is the 6 Day Domestic Gross for several recent Disney and family films:

  • Moana 2 (6 Day Domestic): 231M USD (56.5% of final revenue from international audiences)
  • Lilo & Stitch (2025) (6 Day Domestic): 208M USD (59.17% of final revenue from international audiences)
  • A Minecraft Movie (6 Day Domestic): 193M USD (56.33% of final revenue from international audiences)
  • Zootpoia 2 (6 Day Domestic): 163M USD
  • How to Train Your Dragon (2025) (6 Day Domestic): 114M USD (58.67% of final revenue from international audiences)
  • Wicked: For Good (6 Day Domestic): 113M USD
  • Mufasa (6 Day Domestic): 64M USD (64.77% of final revenue from international audiences)

When all was said and done, 66.67% of the original Zootopia's revenue was from international audiences (~10% higher split when compared to most other top family movies in 2025) and, based on the current splits, Zootopia 2 seems like it will fall in a similar range. It for sure confirms that the decision to add the Zootopia land in Shanghai was a smart call (Zootopia 2 is already the 2nd highest grossing movie in China for all of 2025 and it hasn't been a full week yet... it won't reach number 1... the No. 1 movie for China is a local release called Ne Zha 2 which has over 1.8B USD in 2025, but it already has >3X the revenue of the No. 3 film, Jurassic World: Rebirth).

I guess what I'm getting at is that the popularity of Zootopia is not necessarily with the U.S. domestic audiences, though as an international company trying to get foreign tourists, that might not be what they are going for anyways...

Cheap...lazy....but people will exclaim "its so sweet!" Its no wonder Disney gets away with this stuff and continues to make money. The current crop of Disney fans have zero standards.
This is just a small addition directed to younger kids! Not everything has to be for everyone.

You won’t even have to walk past it. It seems you would have to go out of your way to see and be disappointed by it.

Disney has become very good at looking at something that is very popular and then using that to create a very underwhelming experience in the parks. Add this as another example. If you are going to do Bluey in WDW, at least do it right. If you go the route of using something established that is popular across demographics, create something great.

They do. But not everything has to be a major attraction. It seems this is just a little side attraction to give kids a fun something to do between major rides.
