Nice to see that video footage finally get out and become public.
Someone was a naughty little bug…but the effort is appreciated from a archival standpoint, so thank you.

Download it now kids, just in case this suddenly disappears.

No, this is the source projections for JIIwF:

Anyone else notice they literally put the “wahh-wahh” horn sound effect in the back of the skunk scene, hearing it more clearly?? Wow… lol
But yeah guys, legit.. we seriously need to get the whole story behind this ride’s latest redos. The production stories & creative decisions behind them and how/why they were done the way they were. From folks who actually worked on them. As Tony once said in a podcast panel he was a part of once, “If you could explain to me what an upside down toilet on the ceiling and learning how a skunk smells, improves your imagination. That’d help me a lot cause I, for one, can’t figure it out.” Yeah, me neither Tony and you know what, I think it’d help all of us loyal fans if we finally knew. Who else is with me & wants someone to actually do the research into this & find out? I genuinely feel like it’s been long enough. :

Heading to Orlando for a Disney trip and I still get excited to see Figment and even ride his ride, even if it's objectively not that good.
Oh, same here. When I went on a Universal trip a few years back (around the time Once Upon a Studio was released, now that I think of when that was), I decided to leave a couple days for the WDW parks as I specifically made the point to meet Figment while I was there and see a couple of my favorite classic attractions. But yeah, I ride the 02-current ride while I’m there too (Hey, it’s a ride with air conditioning in the FL heat, doesn’t have a long wait, and I get to see some classic Figment AAs in it, only way I could at that time, while imagining in my mind riding what once was in that space that I’d only seen through YT videos of back in the day before I’d even visited EPCOT, which is how I became the fan I am today to begin with.). Now that I think of it actually, pretty sure I met & had a little chat with you while I was there after I’d ridden the ride, around that exact time. You had your mini Zak & Wheezie plush toy with ya. Hehe. Fun day for both of us meeting Figment that day it would seem.

You know, so I wanted to bring up.. not sure how many probably read it, but awhile ago, I’d mentioned how great, after the ride were restored, a Dreamfinder & Figment variety show done in a similar style to the Wonderful World of Disney/Color/Disneyland & Captain Kangaroo could be. Something for all ages that could be enjoyed by both kids & adults alike rather than strictly little kids. So,. interestingly enough, looking back.. while they were planning that one Dreamfinders show back when Disney Channel launched back in the 80s, there was another proposal called Dreamfinder & Figment’s ImaginHour that never got produced either. Sadly we don’t have much more detail regarding that proposal specifically.. but it seems to be pretty darn close to what I had in mind. Perhaps one day we’ll learn more about it.:

Where did you find this? I tried to reverse image search the image and I can't find it anywhere.

There was also one segment of this show I think that would’ve been animated aswell, think along the same lines as The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Wuzzles, or Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. Figment would’ve had a band of imaginary friends to interact with. Again, miss when shows like these were aimed at all ages rather than just strictly little kids. It’s why the original Journey Into Imagination and most of the classic Disney works stuck with us so deeply.:

I’ll be honest, the way I’d always thought to do, atleast, an animated show or segment of this, would again, be to directly harken back to that Disney Afternoon era. That level of writing & art direction (possibly animation too)., It’d be Dreamfinder & Figment exploring further into more realms of imagination they haven’t before. Think in the realms we explored in the ride and more (like the type of stuff we saw in the Marvel Disney Kingdoms comic books if you’ve ever read those). Maybe specific genres of stories and such also. Dreamfinder & Figment explore these realms in trying to find more (or maybe specific) inspiration for little sparks/ideas to take back home in the idea bag on the flying Dreamcatching machine to the dreamport, but funny things happen on their journeys and it’s up to them to try to find creative solutions to their problems. Along these journeys, meeting new friends who help them and maybe give them a little something to bring back to the dreamport as a token to remember them by and for them to use as inspiration for the ideas they help distribute to the rest of the world. Whether it be an idea they think up or a gift from their creative realm perhaps. And typically there is also a little moral or lesson to learn in each story aswell, just as we saw them in say New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (but again, not preachy, not in your face. It just flowed naturally in the characters and their dialogue amongst eachother). I dunno, something fun like that. But again, the important thing is to be funny & genuinely sincere with it without being pandering or edgy. I wish we could get more shows like that now… unfortunately, I find a large majority of current day shows to be lacking the quality I just mentioned. The closest I’ve seen thus far to what exactly I’m talking about besides the Disney TVA shows we remember growing up (Disney Afternoon + New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh & House of Mouse) is Legend of The Three Caballeros, but sadly it seems it was never renewed for another season and I haven’t seen anything else like it since. It’s the most distinctly Disney feeling show I’ve seen in a while.

And this is why Fluppy Dogs was just a pilot movie...

Indeed. Lol! Oiii was that bad. Every kids show writing & element cliche you could think of, wrapped into one “special”. Horrible. Yet the saddest thing is, most modern animated shows are Infact ‘worse’ than that.
Here’s hoping if Figment & Dreamfinder ever do get a future show, it’s what we’d hope for it to be (classic Disney style) rather than the opposite.

Horrible. Genuinely hope they’d never do that. They just came out with a Dreamfinder & Figment Golden Book that’s literal perfection. Exudes charm & memorability. ‘That’ is what we want, but with the charm of New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers’s writing style & humor (the 90s series, not the movie).

Pretty sure the majority of 80's/90's writers are retired which is why you get this hogwash fluff of Disney Jr shows nowadays..

Oh, on that note. I should mention a quick story, and this one will make you grimace and facepalm ‘immensely’.. so in the Me, Myself, and Bob book by Phil Vischer (creator of Veggie Tales) around the time Lyrick studios was their video distributor.. apparently at the time, and I’m not making this up.. Disney set up a meeting to purchase Lyrick so they “could make Barney as big as Mickey Mouse”. Richard Leach (the father of Sheryl Leach), the head of the company declined as he didn’t wanna sell out. But, oh my God.. this is from the same studio that (apparently) in meetings leading to the pavilion’s downfall, exclaimed “I hate that *effing, you know the word* dragon” and “I don’t like a bearded guy hanging around kids”…. I swear.. the characters & ride practically everyone loved for decades, that appealed to ‘all’ ages, the biggest merch seller in the park & 2nd most popular attraction behind Spaceship Earth in the park, they were more than happy to dump & redo to be the literal worst ride ever… to then turn around and try to acquire ‘Barney & Friends’. Yeah.. ‘that’ Barney & Friends. The most divisive children’s show practically ever produced at the time, that anyone over the age of 5 didn’t enjoy for lacking depth, (ironically) any real imagination, nuance, & genuine sincerity. Explain to me how ‘that’ was such a better plan over doing more with Dreamfinder, Figment and promoting the original Journey Into Imagination ride & ImageWorks better.

I have this mental image of Journey Into Imagination being replaced with a Barney attraction.

I'm in the minority of folks who don't hate Barney (it's probably just the nostalgia talking, but I don't see what's so horrible about the character, although I'm certainly more of a Bear in the Big Blue House fan), but that would be cringe-worthy.

Oh dear. I could actually have seen that happening if Disney got ahold of Barney in the late 90s, maybe they would've kept Figment to tie in with an idea of imagination, but still, not a fan of that idea.
