And how many are liking your posts?

lol my dude the amount of times I could have said the same to you. This doesn’t mean anything. I tend to avoid monotonous, obnoxious back and forths myself. Particularly if I’m not invested nor care. A like can encourage that conversation to keep going.

I'll give you this, if Walt Disney had walked into Imagineering in 1965 and they had both Star Tours and Indiana Jones Adventure and he was told that he could take either or leave them, but they must remain as presented with zero changes; I assume he would seriously consider it. Whether he, as a well-known heel digger himself, would accept those terms is a whole other story and one that there is no right answer to. So sure, I'll concede that Walt would have considered these design choices if he was presented with these finalized versions. I still do find them antithetical to the design choices he landed upon and led with at each step of the way.

Now, can we get back to talking about the violent yet charismatic Übermensch's who Disney staffs to greet guests in their area themed to comic book movies? I just wish the Marvel Campus had a stage area for the Deadpool show or the sadly defunct Doctor Strange show. That corner of the Guardians Parade Gate/Hyperion is one of the least enjoyable parts of any Disney park.

Well I don't do things for likes, so yeah. Plus you brought up likes. It was just an interesting thing, that no others are debating this except you on that side. I mean now that I say it others will probably jump it just out of spite lol.

If this becomes a regular thing I have to assume they'll give him an actual location inside AC. I think they just haven't this year due to all the construction going on right now. I'd actually like to have him become a permanent part of the rotating characters in AC.

I think he will be homed with the X-Men. Now, will X-Men get their own land or be included in AC? I hope they get their own land at least.

I'd honesty love to see some X-Men take over the tired and not too great parts of Avengers Campus. Heck, I'd take anything to replace WEB Slingers and Pym's (not the food, just the vibe). That and the Avengers HQ Jet Hangar looks cool as an idea, but it's so poorly designed for a theme park. Especially with Red Trolly being gone. There should be a stage area to elevate the performers, the designated photo meet and greet should be somewhere better than an awkward corner of the building. That could be a great complex that blends free public space, guided public space (meet and greet) and performance space making all of it feel immersive and integrated.

In a perfect world, for me, we get a weird 60's era Dr. Strange darkride where it's just weird projections and prism effects and optical illusions while Cumberbatch's voice bounces around unseen and they redo the Sanctum/Hangar, and add more giant stuff to Pym's. Give me the vibe of the campus cafeteria filled with inside jokes and mementos.

No, they should keep arguing for a few more pages, we can still get blood from that stone.
Its not like anyone was really that active in this thread anyways. So no one was stopping anyone else from posting something either on or off topic. So if you have something to add rather than snark, please be my guest.

There’s a huge difference between the George Lucas properties and Deadpool.

The comparison is silly.

But since it’s in a corner of DCA - it’s not really that big of a deal. I wish it wasn’t part of the Disney company, but that’s me.

Others wish they would tear down half the park and put in more coasters and modern IP. Different strokes and all!

The idea wasn't about trying to compare them, but rather (since you brought it up in the first place) whether Walt would have liked any of the modern IP based attractions or not. My guess is no.

Well in all fairness, if Disney hadn't moved in this direction its very possible the company and thus the Parks wouldn't exist today. So while it may not be where you want the company, in many ways it saved the company.

I would agree. However, I wasn't intending to compare Deadpool specifically to Star Wars, I was comparing Marvel Movies and superheroes in general to Star Wars. Those are pretty similar in regard to themes, audience, tone, appeal.

Walt was no stranger to comic books, as they have had Mickey Mouse in the comics since the early 40's. I personally don't know Walt's opinion on the superhero comics of his day, but I'd imagine he was aware of them and I can't recall any superhero-esque element to any of Walt's creations, so it appears he was indifferent at best. I think they were not something he valued and preferred graphic art to be either whimsical and wholesome or deep and resonate with his choice of what he decided to create.

ah yes…. R rated movies saved the Disney company. Everyone knows that.
In part yes. Because like it or not Disney was seen as only a "kid" company for a long time, only producing stuff that was solely kid friendly. And while there is nothing wrong with that, it did limit the company and left it ripe for takeover. Its Ron Miller and then Eisner who moved the company into being more diverse and move into the teen and more adult content with Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, and Miramax. Or did you forget that R rated movies like Good Morning Vietnam, Pretty Woman, Cocktail, and Pulp Fiction were Disney. So Disney has been producing R rated content long before they bought Marvel, or 21st Century, and produced Deadpool and Wolverine.

People forget their Disney history.

Oh I didn’t forget….. people think song of the south was bad…. They don’t know about kids!
Not sure what this means. But its clear you forgot that Disney has been producing R rated movies since the 80s, long before Deadpool and Wolverine came out. And yes it saved the company, or did you forget about that little take over attempt in the 80s.
