This makes me want more. Stage next. Then level Launch Depot for something sleeker. Then remove the dumb wing and tower by Stitch. Then replace the rocks and remove the surrounding rocket things. Then redesign the Orbiter during its next refurb. I just need the train toward a de-uglied Tomorrowland to keep on rolling.
Honestly, I think how aesthetically improved Tomorrowland would be if this and the Joffreys kiosk were used as inspiration to carry these design themes throughout the rest of the land.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether would like a word…

(Although I do agree this kiosk looks fab!)
While I strongly disagree with many of the creative decisions made in the Zootopia show, I can see the effort. Quality animatronics, beautiful animation, and it's a fairly entertaining show, IMO. ITTBAB was better, mainly because it adhered to DAK's principles, so in that sense it's not moving in the right direction.

But, if we were still under Chapek, Clawhauser would've been a screen. The Bellwether figure would've been budget cut. In general, the quality of Disney's projects has ticked up significantly even if I don't always agree with their creative decisions.

The quality is rarely the issue (IMO). Sometimes it is.

But most times the issue seems to be whoever is in charge or story / scriptwriting.

A lot of recent projects have featured rather generic or boring designs. Geo82 looks like an upscale but ordinary hotel lobby bar. Don’t get me started on Communicore Hall. Compare Creations Shop to Mouse Gear. One is a generic bland box and the other was an experience by comparison. It’s not about quality or lack thereof, just lack of Disney theming or charm IMO. Boring design you could find anywhere.

This is a step in the right direction even if it’s just a kiosk. Beak and Barrel is another positive step.

A lot has changed since the decisions that lead to Communicore Hall were made. Upper management has changed over at TWDC/WDI, it's hard to lump those decisions in with the current batch of new things. Projects like Astro Fizz, Beak and Barrel, and Test Track all this year show that philosophy has changed. The next wave of big and small projects should hopefully continue in that direction. All the Epcot changes, ending with Geo82, were misfires mainly due to budget cuts and upper management not knowing how to handle the task of 'updating Epcot' - Luckily a lot of those people are gone. Barbara Bouza no longer running WDI, Bob Chapek no longer leading the company, Zach Riddley working on the new park, and even operationally, Kartika Rodriguez no longer as park VP should help Epcot in the long-term.

Do we really need to be told that popcorn and lemonade are "plant based". Seriously?

or that they are gluten free? LOL I saw a "gluten Free" sticker on a tomato at the grocery store....LOL. The new vending booth is beautiful...I really hope they do something with that awful stage thing to match....and then actual entrance to the land...replacing the horrible "rocks" entrance.... dynamic lighting?, water feature?,A dramatic and monumental entrance? that is what should be there...

I get "gluten free". People really need to know that kind of thing because of what they can eat. My church now offers gluten-free wafers. I kid you not. But to be told that popcorn (made from corn) and lemonade (made from lemons) is "plant-based" is ridiculous. Have we really descended to that level of stupidity?

I'm Catholic, so we can't have completely gluten-free hosts for Communion, but even we now have a "very low gluten" host for people with sensitivities and the option of receiving only from the chalice if one cannot have any gluten at all. So, yes, I agree with you that pointing out gluten-free items makes sense.

However, when I was reading the menu, I had the same reaction as you. Why do we need to call out items as "plant-based" that are literally always plants by definition? Is there a version of popcorn that is made from meat? That seems a bit ridiculous to me. "Try our new plant-based lettuce!"

I think it is a label they are including on all their menus for those seeking to follow a plant-based diet. If I'm honest, I don't actually know if this means that the items are vegetarian and this is a new way of labelling that to include people who are not necessarily excluding all meat but are instead following a "plant based" diet or if it doesn't guarantee no animal-based products are used.

Either way, while it may seem ridiculous in this case, I would guess the label is automatically applied to all the options that fit.

I get it with lemonade but popcorn often comes with some kind of butter topping. I can definitely understand why someone who doesn’t eat or can’t eat butter might see a snack stand sells popcorn and think they have to ask whether or not it has butter on it. This would eliminate that concern for anyone who happens to check the menu on the app beforehand.

Alas, we do. Many snack-type foods and drinks, including those you wouldn’t expect, contain animal ingredients. I’m not vegan or even vegetarian, but I don’t eat pork, and so most things with gelatine are off-limits to me. That can include desserts, sweets (candies), and even milkshakes.

Adding those words to each menu item is of benefit to those who are affected and of zero detriment to those who aren’t. There’s no good reason it should bother you.
