D'Amaro smiles the same way I do when there's five minutes left in my day and I'm mentally counting the seconds to go home while using the last bit of force in me to make something that kind of looks friendly.

I have to say I knew this was going to be bad but I wasn't expecting it to be the most universally condemned attraction I have ever seen in the nearly 16 years I have been on this board. That is actually quite impressive.

In my time here I have mostly heard the opposite. He is famously obsessed with using video and projection technology in lieu of Audio Animatronics. Why he is now the only Imagineer his age who is still with the company is a mystery to me.
Exactly… I said that earlier… When I heard how excited he was about Toy story mania, and how he thought it was so mind blowing… I lost all respect for him… Old man never seen a PlayStation before ..I don’t know… Lol

Agreed, Hunchback was among the best live shows WDW produced. It’s unfortunate that its theater was eliminated as I’d prefer it over BatB, although neither should exist today if Disney actually cared about updating its shows.

It punched so far above it's weight. It was in a small outdoor theater and making creative use of traditional live theater techniques, was, in my opinion, far better than the movie it was based on.

Compared to the BATB show in it's giant space which feels like the hokey Disney on Ice version of the far superior movie... without the ice, of course.

If they'd put half as much creative effort into the BATB live show that they did Hunchback, I wouldn't be so disappointing that it's still around.

He has done good work as a scriptwriter, SSE 86, Horizons (in which he also appeared) but his tenure as a creative Executive has been a bit questionable. It is very strange that he is the last second-gen Imagineer left standing in the company seeing as how Tony, Joe, Kevin, Kathy and virtually everyone else from that era are long gone.

It's tough to be a Bug wasn't the greatest show in the world either, and it was also weird that it was in the park's icon. Same is true for this show. Maybe one day something good will be down there.

It’s tough to be a bug was a masterpiece compared to this

I don’t know why you think it was weird to be the parks icon.

The attraction is located inside and under a giant tree. Bugs are exactly what you’d expect to find living inside and under a giant tree. Bugs/insects make up the majority of the animal world and contain some of the most important species for global ecosystems. We can live without rhinoceros and elephants… we cant live without bugs/insects.
